I just want to remind everyone that almost everyone was just about as excited when the Chiefs signed Pioli as they are now.

I know I need to. Can't do as much though from my phone.

Someone needs to make an "I am the Walrus" Beatles motif with Reid.

I'm cautiously optimistic, about Andy Reid, but I have my reservations. Clearly, he's a major upgrade over the last two HC's. In that regard this is a huge win. He's a coach that values the QB position; also another major plus. We'll see what happens, but I'm pumped. I'm excited to see Clark go out there and get the guy that most regarded as the #1 prospect.

I just received a written transcript of a portion of the negotiations in Philly last night. It is as follows:

Quote:

Want to have the final say on everything? Good, we were hoping you wanted that. Want to be one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL with 5 years guaranteed? done. Want to hire your own boss? OK, give me a few minutes and I'll can Pioli's ass, you just tell me who to hire for GM. Wait, you want ME to be your boss? OK, I can do that. You still need to pick a GM though because when I rushed out the door just now I threw Scott out a 2nd-story window. Come on, I'll give you free use of the private jet, hell just take the jet, want a cooler full of beer that is always stocked, fi- huh? You are mormon? OK, alcohol is now banned in Arrowhead, what else?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, probably a million times but just in case...........

Last sticking point was.......Reid wasn't going to finalize and sign the deal until Pioli was fired because of the language in Pioli's contract that he had control of player personnel.

That's not true.

Clark could not hire Reid without Pioli signing off on it. Pioli had control of all football moves in his deal. Reid had nothing to do with that aspect.

Pioli would have easily sued Clark for a breach of contract which would have resulted in a lot more than the money he was owed.

That was the concern.

Just what the radio guy emailed me. Take it for what its worth. I still don't trust the guy. If your information is from the guy you know personally...... I'd believe that.
