I agree. I've been sitting here reading the gochiefs thread, and all I keep thinking is "we wouldn't have this problem if there were electric cars."

Probably not the thread I was reading. $50,000.00 for the model S. A Cadillac DTS is pretty much the same price.

They need to build a light duty pickup and a SUV.

I have a friend who is a pioneer on electric cars. It's his hobby, his passion, and his FT job. I'm envious.

I need to know how much money it takes to charge one of these up. A 90 amp breaker drawing 70 amps for 4 hrs. What's that amount to?

Just seemed like an odd thing to bring up.

Tesla seems cool enough, though.

I just didn't feel like typing "Look At This Cool Electric Car" for the thread title.

All things being equal, I'd rather have a Delorean than ran on Mr. Fusion.

Are those on the market? You can order a Tesla for delivery in 2012. To me this is a viable option of an electric car as opposed to gas powered.

I think Tesla has been saying "next year" for a few years now.

GM was set to offer a dual mode hybrid and a small 4.5L turbo Diesel as options in their half-ton trucks until they went tits up and got bailed out.

Top Gear tested a Tesla and when they could keep it running it was an impressive car. Thing would overheat and break down way too easily, though that could be related to Jeremy’s right foot.
