But shit man I have two mortgages (due to 2008 economy) so 2% is huge!

I make literally thousands of dollars a year on CC cash back/sign up bonuses/etc.

It isn't for everyone though, you have to be on top of things and be disciplined enough to not run up your statement to the point you can't pay it off every month.

I use my Chase Freedom card. It's pretty legit. No annual fee.

This is what we use.

I use the Priceline Visa, but the Fidelity Amex was also mentioned in this thread. Don't know that there's really an advantage to either one, other that Visa being more commonly accepted.

Soooo here's another question. Can I sign up for a card with 100 dollar bonus for the 1st 1000 spent in 60 days and then cancel and do the same/ w another card? Where does it end? Discipline?

crispystl 04-02-2013 09:36 PM

Also I know I can find all of this info on Google, but I have a full time job, a 5 year old, and I'm working on a business. AND I sell shit on e-bay ALL day long. So I'm not lazy I'm just trying to be efficient.

It ends when you run out of ways to meet the minimum spend and/or your credit report has too many Hard Inquiries and they start denying you for cards.

If you're not worried about buying a house, car, or getting some other loan in the next two years, then don't worry about the HQs on your report. They'll fade and your credit score will normally actually be better within about 6 months.

This is where I learned A TON about this kind of stuff. I don't really post much, because quite honestly a lot of these guys are dicks and think everyone is going to get their deals shut down, but there is tons of great info here, especially in the stickies.

Should have added in my last post if there's no annual fee there really is no reason to cancel it, and will hurt your credit score in the short run. Most cards offer a "once per lifetime" sign-up bonus anyway, so you usually won't be able to get a bonus from the same card.
