YO!!!!

Oh snap
|
That pinch hit was his sayonara eh?
About time. |
Royal Rep Thread?
|
Finally
|
Fi-****ing-nally.
|
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Hopefully Gio gets a fair shake at 2B (like the rest of the year) and we can acquire (Alex Rios?) a RF, or let Lough/Dyson/Cain handle the right 2/3rds of the OF for the rest of the year.
|
YES!

A Royals loss, and yet a happy day.
|
Our problems are solved!

Thank goodness. It is about damn time. Great day in Royals history.
|
The signs had been pointing to this, but I wasn't sure it would really happen.
Wonder if Gio will platoon at 2B, be fulltime, or whether against LHP he'll go to LF, Gordo to RF and Tejada will play 2B. |
Giavotella has played his way into this promotion. Hopefully he can stay now.

How can you cut a guy who didn't even murder anybody?
|
Quote:

Let Gia play full time. Once and for all to see if he can handle it.
|

I would be sad if Gio isn't starting at 2B for awhile now. BTW not only does this mean GMDM finally sees that Frenchy sucks, but also that E. Johnson is a utility player, except against TB. |
Quote:
His job is in his own hands now. If he doesn't perform this time then I don't see him getting another shot with the Royals. |
Now if we can just find a way to get rid of ChiefsandO's fan....
:hmmm: |

Ok, Chiefs 'n' O's fan can be annoying. But he posted the news we've ALL been dying to hear.
Don't ruin this happy day. |

There's a Delta non-stop to ATL, last one of the night, leaving MSP in about an hour. Let's get him out of town.
|
These pipes are CLEAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!
|
Does anyone pick him up?
|
Like Cassel leaving KC ROFL
|
Bob Dutton @Royals_Report now
#Royals GM Dayton Moore says 2B Johnny Giavotella coming up to be the regular second baseman. |
Chortle:
Tom Nardini @sheck1j6 20m @Royals_Report @Buster_ESPN buster would Yankees make a move for francoeur as an extra bat? |
Quote:
|
Atleast the royals are making moves. My white sox are the fourth worst team in baseball and continue to do nothing

Boy if the Yankees swallowed our sloppy seconds that would be ironic glory.
|
Prediction: No one picks up Francoeur.
|
Do we get any relief on salary burden if someone does pick him up?

That's why guys like Frenchy are "sunk costs" -- you have to pay him whether he's on the roster or not. The money basically is already spent, whether he performs or not; you can't save any by cutting him. |
Quote:
|
Hard to believe he's fallen so far. He was the toast of Atlanta when he first came into the league. I actually bought my Braves fan wife a Francoeur autographed baseball for Christmas one year. We still have it.
I guess I'd increase the value by erasing his signature. LMAO |

End of an era.

I watched Moneyball a couple weeks back and when Bean and his accountant dude was pulling up stats on players I had to do a rewind it showed Francour's
name in it. He has a movie claim to fame you could say. |
Dayton Moore saying Johnny Giovatella is coming up to be the everyday second baseman.
|
Re-signing him was asinine, but at least Moore has grown tired of chasing his tail. Our GM has proven time and again that he's stupid, but he generally proves that he's not crazy, too.
|
Quote:
The burden is clearly on the team that picks him up. |

This is classic Dayton Moore stupidity, but whatever. |
So, what happens to the French quarter? The usual French surrender to superior forces?
|
I hope this time Gio gets it. He turns 26 here in a couple weeks. This might be his last chance... and the last two times he's been up he's not really been any better than Getz.
|
AND THE FOUR FANS IN FRENCHY QUARTER WEEP....
|
What a great day to be a Royals fan.

The Royals will be close to the playoffs in August until Frenchy comes in here with whatever team he's on and hit a game winning home run that essentially ends the Royals season. He will cross home plate and give DMGM the bird in his suite.

Royals haven't removed "Frenchy Quarter" nights from their website yet...

He can "skulk" all he wants in Omaha. As long as he's not on the big club, don't care.
|
I hope someone picks him up, so that way we don't have to worry about him wasting a space in Omaha....
|
|
HE HAD A GOOD ARM
|
I don't know if Ned's gotten the memo yet on Gio being the everyday 2b:

He has a baby on the way. Noooooo
|
Can't wait for the eventual time Ned is asked about this during a PC and breaks down crying talking about how Frenchy is such a good person and this isn't fair...you know it's coming lol.

I don't blame Francouer so much as I blame GMDM for signing him to a two year deal. We could have kept Melky (and his drug habit) instead. We could have had Melky in center and put Cain in right.
Francouer is a good guy. Nobody disputes that. He just can't hit major league pitching. maybe he'll make a good scout or coach someday. And he does have a baby on the way. I think the $7 million GMDM paid him this year will more than pay for that... |
