Dropping this off in GC due to the nature of Woot and it will likely sellout quickly.

Apparently it is already getting some love from the XDA community.

They have ROMs available that enhance the performance of the tablet after being rooted. Reviews on it say that the stock OS is junk.

Has a headphone jack, USB, and MiniUSB port. No HDMI port which is a bummer.

bought one

I would but the resolution sucks(but it's still equal to the ipads!) :-/ Nice price but tablets need real HD resolutions!

Agreed, at the price point, with the name brand, and the XDA community's full support... this very well could be the ipad's first real challenger.

My only sticking point with this is no HDMI out port. If this had one, I would have already purchased it.

Ordered one. Thanks.

The Archos 101 at $350 is a more polished product out of the box. I was looking the Viewsonic but it seemed you had to hack the shit out of it to get it working properly. The Archos took a lot less hacking (Android Marketplace and Flash being the two biggest).

other than the processor that is. the processor on the viewsonic curbstomps the archos.

yes, it takes a bit of tweaking to get it right but man... it is worth it for the processor alone.

the viewsonic is running dual core 1ghz proc

Hootie 03-23-2011 12:24 PM

I'm gonna need someone to hold my freaking hand hacking this thing...

I tried putting DD-WRT on my router and bricked the shit out of it...

can only imagine what I'm going to do to this bad boy
