Bump 03-17-2013 05:03 PM

When I first got my dog. Whenever she pee'd in the house, I put her in a dog crate for a while.

She learned pretty quick, although it did take about a month, and I cant remember the last time she had an accident.

Hitting the dog, scaring isn't going to help. With my dog, the crate worked perfectly. She hated that thing and I would strongly recommend trying that.

But since you've had the dog a long time and just all of the sudden he's doing this. That tells me something else might be wrong.

Is he crate trained? That may be a worthwhile start as well.

Finally, exercise is pretty critical. A tired dog is always a good dog.

Yeah, he is fixed and crate trained. If you saw him you would know he gets lots of excercise. He is pretty ripped. I run him pretty ragged I just can't do it 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Yeah, I believe you. I'll start that off today. Thanks bud.

I don't really rub her face in it btw. I just put her nose right up to it and hold it there for a few seconds. I was really hoping for a troll opportunity and it never materialized.

I'm sure you've taken her to the vet for a checkup if it's gone on this long; could be something as simple as a UTI.

And there is always the doggie anti-depressive route. If she's neurotic after play, it could be a straight up chemical imbalance (not impossible; JRTs are nuts anyway).

Can't stand irresponsible pet owners.

Oh go **** yourself dipshit. Yes, someone looking for advice is an irresponsible pet owner. Could you be any ****ing dumber?

I wasn't aware so many people on this board owned Jack's. Love mine. Had her since she was a pup. She's my first dog.

I realize you're a pretty sedentary guy, but I assure you it can be done.

Yeah, Jack Russells are one big ball of energy. If I am not running him or throwing a ball or playing tug of war he is sitting in front of me with his back leg shaking because he is about ready to jump out of his skin. Everyone else sees him and gets a kick out of it but I am always telling them they have no idea how exhausting he can be.
