Finally got a job
Well, it has been a long 9 months (and no I have not been pregnant).
I was laid of May 1 last year. I was just offered a position with Cricket Communications in their corporate office here in Denver to help standardize all of their business processes corporate wide. Just have to pass the background check and drug test before I can actually start. HUGE weight off my shoulders. If something hadn't happened by April we would have been looking at selling the house. I am also still in the interview process with Amazon to manage their global business continuity program. I have a 3rd phone interview with them tomorrow and if that goes well I should be scheduled for an in person interview soon. That would mean relocating to Seattle, but my Dad and step mom live out on the Olympic peninsula so I would be a lot closer to them. It just feels so good that after such a long time of unemployment that may have a couple of options soon. This is the longest I have been out of work since I was 12 and I turn 45 next month. |

Congrats dude but you guys need to remember anytime you really need a job , I'm ALWAYS needing help. I can't pay a whole lot but it's a very hands on and satisfying career. Just let me know. I can usually provide housing too.

Awesome. Congrats to you, and I'm glad you get to stay in Denver, though the Olympic peninsula wouldn't have been much of a hardship either.

Great news for you!

Congrats man.. Have you seen Amazon's new South Lake Union Corporate campus? It is really fantastic, more buildings under construction right now, and soon to break ground. If Amazon offers you a job and you accept you will get a chance to ride the SLUT (Unfortunate name for South Lake Union Trolley) http://www.urbancondospaces.com/sout...s-urban-campus

Congratulations! I hope the new job proves to be a rewarding experience. What are some of the main business practices they want to standardize, if you know/willing to share?
|
Congrats man.

Man, and I thought I put too much about myself out there. Congrats on the job bud. Hope you land Amazon though. Seattle is gorgeous, and they have excellent pay and benefits.

Assuming I make it past that they will fly me to Seattle for a day long interview with several different groups. The Amazon job will also offer me lots of opportunity to travel. Sounds like I would be responsible for business continuity and disaster management for all of their Aisa/Pacific business. That is currently in a state of flux so it could be Europe or all of the Americas depending on how things work out. Keeping my fingers crossed that this progresses quickly as it is number one on my list. |
