This. Nothing of it makes sinse. Have they even looked at Teos phone records to prove he was on the phone with her for hours at a time?

I just think it's weird and not so much a cohensidence that she happen to have leukemia and that the Colts Coach had leukemia. Some how I think he (or someone) came up with leukemia from seeing the attention the Colts team was getting with their coach having leukemia. Is that just cohensidence? This would give him the utmost sympathy and attention to propell him in the sport to drive up his stock in the draft. Just a guess and I have no clue if I am right. Just bizzaro thing to do.

Lennay Kekua's death resonated across the college football landscape—especially at Notre Dame, where the community immediately embraced her as a fallen sister. Charity funds were started, and donations poured into foundations dedicated to leukemia research. More than $3,000 has been pledged in one IndieGogo campaign raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Any opinion on the whole Lizzy Seeberg thing, or is that justifiable as well?

That is so detailed I have to think it really happened.

What if you used the experience to reach out to families with sons and daughters who shit themselves at work to gain publicity, and donations were made in your name to "Support Office Shitters of America", a research and support group to help those affected by unexpected office shitting. But then someone in your office comes to find out that your shit was just a small shart, and your boss covered it up because your business was getting publicity and enhancing it's brand because of the altruistic shitting employee?

Riddle me that!

Uh ya it's absolutely deplorable the way that was handled.

The article in the National Catholic Reporter written by a Notre Dame alum is damning. They slow played that investigation until she offed herself but hired private investigators the moment MT came to them re: a internet prank assuming you give them every benefit of the doubt there.

At best she was a troubled girl that they gave little to no support and were slow to investigate her claims and at worst they implicitly slow played and covered up a sexual assault and engaged in a smear campaign against her to protect football players. Callous at best and criminal at worst.

It's bad any way it's sliced.

The players were never named to my knowledge as charges were never filed and that is important to note in all fairness.

Well put. I know this, but I was wondering if the poster I addressed did as well.

gotta agree with Dane about the common sense factor

but I will add...it must suck having to be famous, a kid, and growing up in the social media era

seems like Teo made a wretched mistake and used terrible taste and committed an unfathomable lie...but he's still just a kid

The just a kid excuse can be used for a lot of things...but not this. Regular kids don't lie about having long time girlfriends who die of cancer on the same day as their grandmas death.

Stranger things have happened: A college star made up a dead girlfriend story and was backed by a top catholic institution. Did you hear?

Hootie 01-17-2013 08:42 PM

I agree that it is ****ed up but I have a feeling it was a lie that took off and after it took off there was nowhere else to go but just going with it in hopes it would eventually just go away.

Instead, DEADSPIN actually does some investigative reporting and unleashes the entire thing and now he's in full spin mode.

Suck for him, he shouldn't have lied...but people make mistakes. People also die of cancer. A made believe girlfriend dying of cancer is pretty sick but it didn't really hurt anyone, other than Teo himself (now). So it seems like he's paying the price for being a dipshit.

This guy will go to pieces in the near future. There is a screw loose in there.
