***Rumor*** Pioli gets fired if Chiefs Lose in Tampa.

Title says it all. Heard on the Danny Parkins show this morning on 610 that Danny has an unnamed Source that he trusts. The source says Pioli has been told win at Tampa or his tenure is done in KC.

Can we really be this close to our goal? :thumb:

No way Pioli is fired any time before Week 15, if he gets fired at all.

Besides all the portents are pointing to him getting an extension.

chefsos 10-12-2012 03:47 PM

Sounds great, but how many teams have fired a GM in mid-season?

stonedstooge 10-12-2012 03:47 PM

Pisoli floating out false shit to get the fans excited so he can revel in the suffering when the Cheaps lose and it comes out a few days later his contract has been extended? He's a dirty bastard, that's for sure

unothadeal 10-12-2012 03:47 PM

And if we win he's redeemed?

The Franchise 10-12-2012 03:47 PM

THROW THE GAME, QUINN!!!!

007 10-12-2012 03:48 PM

No way he fires him based on one game after an injury to Cassel. Don't buy this rumor for a second. That said. Go Bucs!!!

RealSNR 10-12-2012 03:48 PM

Don't tempt me

kushed god 10-12-2012 03:48 PM

They won't fire him.

Dont know off the top of my head....but what does a GM do in mid season?

Most of their work is done in the offseason I would think.

Fish 10-12-2012 03:54 PM

Would be awesome if true. But I can't for a minute think that a GM would be held accountable for the outcome of a single game.

Duh..... they control game day lineups. Right? Right? :banghead:

stonedstooge 10-12-2012 03:54 PM

So the front office won't tell reporters yesterday wheter his contract has been extended or not, but come out with a specific detail concerning his job performance and a termination pending a victory? Pisoli twisting the knife he stuck in our backs

scouting players for 13 draft, roster moves. we need pioli fired now so the job gets really enticing for everyone around the league like it would. someone watching from the outside and seeing how dirtay geno is

qabbaan 10-12-2012 03:58 PM

Carl was forced out during the season, and after stories were printed that Clark was pissed about the on field play and stormed out of his suite.

Hunt might want to make a change at midseason, so we can work on finding a replacement and being ready for offseason activities (like hopefully resigning Bowe before Pioli has a chance to let him walk)

Right now for the Chiefs he sets the line ups and calls the plays/cp

Urc Burry 10-12-2012 04:01 PM

Ummm when is the last time a GM was fired by week 5? I call BS

gblowfish 10-12-2012 04:01 PM

The soonest anything would happen to Pioli is after this season is done.
And if they throw anybody under the bus for this year, it'll be Cassel.

Titty Meat 10-12-2012 04:02 PM

There's nothing on Parkins Twitter about it.....

lewdog 10-12-2012 04:02 PM

Yea, Scott Pioli's job is going to rest in the hands of Brady Quinn. The hands of a backup QB.

Oh wait, that is ****ing reeruned. Can the mods please lock this thread?

the Talking Can 10-12-2012 04:02 PM

first, it makes no sense at all to base your judgement on one game when he has almost 4 years of failure....so, i don't believe it

that said

i will be rooting for a loss with every fiber....i will pray from now to sunday for us to lose by 40

This is easily one of the top 3 worst "rumors" of CP all time.

qabbaan 10-12-2012 04:04 PM

I want Quinn to look great but the team to still massively lose. I think that is the most embarrassing scenario for Pioli.

royr17 10-12-2012 04:04 PM

sad news is that if this does actually indeed happen that the assistant general manager is joel collier and he came over from the patriots too .... yikes

keg in kc 10-12-2012 04:05 PM

Yeah right.

J Diddy 10-12-2012 04:05 PM

Has Clark said anything at all, except that carefully crafted statement, about anything?

Wouldn't make sense to fire a GM during the season, I don't see it having any impact on the remaining games.

notorious 10-12-2012 04:07 PM

Just think of the gigantic weight that would be lifted off this fanbase's shoulders if Pioli was shitcanned.........

After an 0-3 start to the Lions 2008 season, Lions vice chairman and Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman William Clay Ford, Jr., told reporters on September 22, 2008 if it were up to him, he would fire Millen.

On September 24, 2008, Millen's tenure as team president and general manager ended.

Two issues with the rumor.

1. If true we will win regardless as that is our luck.

2. If true then what happens if we win? Does he last the season? Get extended? These questions lead me to not believe the rumor.

Well if Mr. Chunt were basing it off the past 4 years, then there wouldn't need to be a qualifier like "Win at TB or your fired!" You don't look at 4 years of work, and say "Alright, that's been shitty and all, but now your future rests on this one single game." It's just totally illogical.

heh. well lets just hope they lose so we can get confirmation. :D

dmahurin 10-12-2012 04:24 PM

He got this from lazlo on the buzz yesterday. Lazlo claimed to have a source that told him. Lazlo still talks to nick wright. My guess is nick is trolling or he's using the same sources that told him about Haley last year and is passing the info on.

Richard_Cuckold 10-12-2012 04:26 PM

The way lazlo told it, pioli is gone regardless, a loss would cause immediate firing, a win doesn't mean he's not, but it may buy him time to the next blowout loss. Probably all bs but it's nice to hope for.

BigMeatballDave 10-12-2012 04:28 PM

LMAO

Rumors of him about to be fired right after rumors of him being extended.

jspchief 10-12-2012 04:28 PM

There is literally no point in firing him midseason. Unless maybe Clark thinks it will placate fans.

About 59,000 $85 season tickets would cover a $5m GM buyout.

Something tells me somebody named Marty is whispering in his ear!

Frazod 10-12-2012 04:31 PM

With all the unrest and the team's general state of shittiness, I can't imagine he'll be here next year. But I seriously doubt that Clark will grease him in the middle of the season. Although I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it happen.

IF that over inflated douchbag gets fired, then it's already been decided (win or lose) or most likely will happen at the end of the year.
