On Netflix now. Beer Wars is about the big 3 beer companies basically trying to crush the independent craft beer industry. I'll never drink another Bud again.

Yeah.. That was messed up.

I'd recommend you buy The Great Shark Hunt:The Gonzo Papers Vol 1. that has everything from the birth of gonzo journalism to HST's coverage of Ali vs. Spinks in '78. Fear and Loathing is included and tons of other writings.

The Donner Party is excellent.

They do a good job of framing the entire documentary as a detective case that they're attempting to solve, complete with timelines, suspects, locations, etc. And the subject matter is trippy enough to keep it all interesting.

A Toynbee Tile has appeared in downtown KC. It's at 12th & Main, in the crosswalk (west side of the intersection).

The main block of text says:
HOUSE OF HADES
ONE MAN VERSUS
AMERICAN MEDIA
IN SOCIETY 2011
Above and below it in smaller text is: WHO WILL PAY FOR ALL THEY HAVE DONE?

I'm sure it's just a copycat, but it's still cool! I'll post a picture later when I have some time.

Dude is such a good player too...all of those old school arcade players are. Back when games took a shit ton of skill.

I'm STILL trying to crack DK...wish I was half as good as Mitchell, Wiebe, or Hank Chien.

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles I'm not sure why but this one just hooked me. If I had to recommend only one it'd be this one. It starts slow and you really don't care at first but then it builds and sucks you in.

Best Worst Movie Just wow. At times you just feel uncomfortable knowing the fail train is running on time...

The Wild and Wonderful Whites Imagine having a one night stand and knocking up someone in this insane family.

I don't have to...

Shut Up Little Man! If you liked Resurrect Dead you'll like this. Most people will probably like this more. Stranger than fiction for sure...

Don't ask me how I forgot that one.

A must for any PJ fan.

I liked both of those. High Score is a pretty good doc about Bill Carlton going after the 80M score on missile command. Special when Lit is a decent doc about pinball history and players. I liked the doc, TILT: The Battle to Save Pinball, a lot more. Tilt is a short doc about Williams Pinball and the last Pinball table they designed. The Perfect Fraudman is an attempted documentary by Dwayne Richard. It is about all the dirt on Twin Galaxies and King of Kong. Most of it is rendered moot since Walter Day doesn't own Twin Galaxies anymore. There is a doc called The Video Craze (where were you in '82?) that is in the can but hasn't been released yet.

my favorite documentaries that I've seen in the last year or so:

The Devil and Daniel Johnston
Knuckleball
Senna (I never followed F-1 and had never heard of Senna but, this was very entertaining)

I've said it here before, but. It's pretty damned great. I watched it twice.
