Air Shocks

I will readily admit I am mechanically stunted. Never learned to work on a car, never learned to build anything. Just awful.

So a few years ago I bought a GMC Envoy Denali. I has the rear air shocks. For the first few years I was pretty happy with my car, but the past two years have been awful. I noticed that the ride in back began to get lower and lower. If I parked it, it would drop completely, and then raise back up when I started it. not knowing jack nor shit about cars, or even what an "air shock" was, I figured it was kinda normal...until it started raising more and more slowly...and finally stopped raising at all.
About 18 months ago, I finally replaced the airbags in it, and it rode back to normal, and I was back to being happy. But over the summer it started dropping again and not raising. I took it to Firestone, and they said the bags had pin holes in them. So I took it back to Christian Brothers, where I had gotten the new bags, to have them check them, since they were only a year old. they said the bags were fine, and the compressor (s?) had gone bad. Either way, it was far more expensive to fix than I could afford. Of course, a couple of weeks ago, a student of mine brought up a point I had (stupidly) never thought of...

Why not just replace the air shocks with standard shocks?

My question is, is this possible? I just looked online and found "conversion kits" that seem quite a bit cheaper, but I don't know where I'd take it to to have it done. Anyone have experience with this? Advice? Funny quips making fun of me for having a funny haircut?

what kind of anti-freeze are you running?

and the size of the ball bears would be useful to know as well

They are not really air shocks, they are air springs. You have to convert it over to standard springs/shocks:

The great thing is you do this once and you are done.

There is a different kit if your model is an "XL" or longer version, but it's still about the same price.

That's pretty much what I found. So that'll work?
So I buy that kit, and can i take it somewhere, or just hope I can find a friend that has some know-how/tools and equipment?

Clean these windows. There is a tremendous amount of gook on them.
