Arizona quarterback Matt Scott 'blowing up' Pro Day

Arizona quarterback Matt Scott is making a big move up draft boards. After showing well at the NFL Combine in February, he is reportedly putting on an impressive encore performance at Arizona Pro Day on Thursday in front of NFL scouts.

According to Pauline, the Jacksonville Jaguars were well represented in Tucson to watch Scott work out. Team reps from the Arizona Cardinals were also on hand. Both of those teams finished among the bottom five in the league in terms of passer rating.

Scott possesses excellent measurables. In Indianapolis, he ran a 4.69 40-yard dash after weighing in at 6'2, 213 pounds. He was very productive in Rich Rodriguez' spread-option offense last season, completing 60 percent of his passes for 3,620 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. On the ground, he added 506 yards and six touchdowns on 113 carries.

Scott is No. 9 on Dan Kadar's latest ranking of the top quarterbacks in the 2013 NFL Draft class. If he was a bit raw in his footwork and mechanics during the season, however, he is apparently showing marked improvement in workouts. Scott will be a name worth monitoring until the NFL Draft in late April.

Well.....if we want him in the 3rd round.....we have the 1st pick.

Can't have a foles, so we might go after the guy that took over for him?

Why not just take Geno and be done with it?

There are rumors here that Pete Carroll loves this kid. Since the Seahawks have shown they are willing to go for guys they want early, I would not be shocked at all to see them take him in the 2nd, even though they have Wilson.

Technically, Foles took over for Scott. Scott was the starter but lost his job to Foles after playing poorly early in that season. Scott finished out Foles JR season after Foles got hurt (losing every game). It was until Foles left and Rich Rodriguez got there that Scott finally played well.

The Matt Scott hype is absolutely unreal right now. The guy has very middling tape. Never thought a QB would be a "workout warrior."

Let me put it this way. Matt Scott was the guy who was yanked in favor of Nick Foles, and couldn't ever beat him out again.

Didn't Scott actually beat out Foles in a 1 on 1 competition?

No reason to take Geno Smith at 1-1 and sit him on the bench behind Alex Smith.

For two games, then Foles took over.

He still beat him. He had 1 bad game and they went to Foles at 2-1.

Scott was also the incumbent, having backed up Willie Tuitama the year before and playing some in special packages. I don't know how much of a true competition there was because of that.

Good call, now that the Como curse is in effect bring on Geno.

Scott didn't fit the offense. They went with Foles because he's a true pocket passer.

This team needs to get serious about a developmental QB to sit behind Smith. It's obviously not coming at pick #1 and with our #2 gone it needs to come ASAP. I dont care who it is but they better not be 3rd day leftover garbage.

Right. It was the same coaches and same offense that he was recruited to Arizona to play. The fact is that Foles is just a superior QB and never looked back once he was in.

Foles is garbage.

Remember in 2010 when Scott came in to win acouple games in Foles' absence and then Foles came back to end the season on 5 straight losses?
