Geno Smith so far this season in 7 conference games: 2,289 yards, 65.9% completion, 23 TD, 5 INTs, 147.4 rating.

RG3 in 9 conference games last season: 3,036 yards, 68.8% completion, 23 TDs, 6 INTs, 179.48 rating.

Geno Smith vs ranked opponents this season: 1,387 yards, 72.5% completion, 17 TDs, 4 INTs, 180.1 rating.

RG3 vs ranked opponents last season: 1,609 yards, 69% completion, 15 TDs, 3 INTs, 194.8 rating.

I'm not sure Geno is my #1 guy anymore (tight race between him, Barkley & Wilson) but this statement seems misguided.

Is it Geno's fault his team plays zero defense? He scored 48 v Texas, 38 v TCU, 34 v OSU, 49 vs OU.

Now if you want to say he stunk vs K-State & Texas Tech, 14 points vs each, fine.

But to say folded against any decent competition this year is just wrong.

Kaepernick most certainly has "it"...proved it last night against a top tier defense.

One game, sure...but sometimes you can just tell.

That being said, he is absolutely, 100% off the block. The 49ers wouldn't take 2 firsts for him after that game.

Alex Smith was a stopgap, and they knew that. Kaepernick has QBotF potential.
