That's my attitude toward Pioli these days.

beach tribe 04-25-2009 02:32 PM

Look, we obviously had ZERO takers to trade down, and this draft has basically the same talent level from 1 to damn near 20. He was the best that they saw. I'd rather have Richard Seymore than Kieth Bullock.

BigChiefFan 04-25-2009 02:32 PM

The pick is disappointing to say the least.

Now go shove a florescent lightbulb up your ass.

Let's not over-react. I don't like the pick particularly well either, but we obviously didn't have any trade options. He's made some really good moves already IMO, the guy knows what he's doing.

RealSNR 04-25-2009 02:38 PM

It almost has to improve. Why? Because our coaching staff was effing brain dead. We had 10 sacks as a team last year. We will improve, but it won't be because we reached on someone that should have been drafted in the 15-20 range at number 3.

We could have gotten Mark Sanchez and kept our second-rounder.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-25-2009 02:41 PM

The move was to never trade for Cassel and draft Sanchez.

You don't have to be a genious to figure it out.

Instead you hand 36 million to Matt ****ing Cassel and drop another 25+ guaranteed on a mid first rounder like Tyson Jackson.

Fish 04-25-2009 02:41 PM

But we suck because we question the great Scott Pioli.

A shit ton of teams wanted Cassell. We got him and a productive starting lb for a 2nd round pick. A lot of people were asking the nfl to look into the trade because they thought there was something dirty going on there. We got a sweet deal. I fail to see how that screwed us.

If a shit ton of teams wanted that scrub, he would have fetched more than 1/3 of what Cutler went for, and 1/2 of what Jason Peters went for.

Hey check it out. The Jets have both of Hamas' latest two draft busts. Gholston, and Sanchez.

OH yes. The Jets WILL put him out there before he's ready, and he's gonna crash, and burn because of it, and I can't say we wouldn't have done the same.

We got a sweet deal for our 2nd rounder. We got a SHITTY deal for our 1st rounder, which was a HIGH first rounder.

Which pick is more important to get a sweet deal on to grant the most success?

That's the main thing. I don't even mind the Jackson pick (it's pretty obvious nobody wanted a top 3 pick this year) as much as I mind everything that led up to it. The Cassel trade, the decision to follow the herd and switch to a 3-4, everything.

Even if he is Richard Seymour, that kind of production at that particular position just doesn't warrant the 3rd overall pick.

It's the same reason why nobody wanted to pick Curry.

You have said yourself that the damn Talent level isn't much different from 1 to 20, so why does it matter where the hell he was ranked when the talent level is all the same. He picked his favorite. Wasn't my favorite, but I'm not the GM for the KC Chiefs, or a whiner, who thinks my opinion is above his.

Scott Pioli has made 1, 1 pick as a GM.

Tyson Jackson at three.

He wasn't in charge of scouting, that was Dimitroff.

He wasn't the guy making the pick, that was Belichick.

But please, continue to suckle the cock of a guy who just took the 15th-20th rated prospect at 3 and traded our second rounder for a backup.

But hey, these guys "love football." You know what, so do a lot of high school football players.
