My understanding is that they buy a timeslot eg. 1st Q timeout 1,2,3 etc. If it's stuck like that they'd have to do that. But even then, they were still running them later.

I am not aware of it. If it is a scripted reality show then it is not for me.

I don't watch any of that crap. And I only watch three CBS shows, and I only watch two of those because the wife likes them. I don't watch any of the CBS sitcoms regularly, although when I see some of them, like Big Bang Theory, they do seem to be funny.

They make enough off the Super Bowl. What they really need is ratings for their other shows so they can sell ads for them.

Remember last night CBS burned paid ads during the blackout so they also had time to fill later in the game because pots slotted later were played during the delay. And every network slots self promo time it's why they pay so much for the rights. It does generate viewership for other programing on that network.

It's hard to argue that CBS is stupid when they're the #1 network right now. I'd say they know what they're doing.

CBS is just the worst. The Big Bang Theory is in contention for worst comedy on TV, and everything else is just formulaic, old-hat, generic TV.
