RIP Meadowlark Lemon
Story in today's NY Times. He was 83 and played literally all over the globe.

I will throw a water bucket of confetti in his honor.

RIP
The Globetrotters don't seem all that popular anymore, but as a kid in the 70s and 80s they were the shiznit. |
Saw them at Municipal as a kid. Used to watch the cartoon and try to draw their van!
|
He was a fantastic entertainer. Could sink half court hook shots all day every day.

He used to live near my house; would see him walking his dog in the mornings...never talked to him but waved as I drove by on my way to work...always smiled and waved back.
