Lone Survivor

Most of you have probably seen a trailer or two for this, if you ask me it looks pretty bad ass... the true story of a four man SEAL team tasked with taking out a top Al Qaeda leader in Afghanistan... anyone looking forward to it? I sure am, these kinda guys inspire heap big man crush in me.

Solid cast with Wahlberg, Bana, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch... though i'm not sure I can buy Hirsch as a SEAL, we'll see...

I'd like to see it.

Looks pretty decent.

Scott Free and I can't be the only ones that want to see this, can we?

There will probably be some suspension of disbelief, but hey, if you know that going in, watch people get ****ing mowed down rambo style.

I've watched a couple of the interviews with the lone survivor and he says it's pretty accurate. He's also very humble in the interviews. He describes himself as a coward and says that he gave up more than once, which is odd coming from a SEAL but makes the story more interesting. They're human and they have a breaking point. He found his and he's capable of admitting it.

His friendship with the Afghan that saved him is also pretty cool. That guy has some pretty big balls.

There have been some decent reviews for the movie in the movies thread so Scott Free and I can't be the only ones that want to see it.:thumb:

Watched this last night. Fantastic movie.

I watched an excellent hourlong interview the other day with Luttrell, the main actors and Peter Berg, cant wait to catch this... the realism will be top notch, both Luttrell and several other SEALS were on set every day to make sure of it.

They supposedly rode the crap outta all the actors in training and on set... its gonna be a helluva movie.

Ok, you bastards have convinced me to go check this movie out at some point.

Theres a pretty cool human story between Luttrell and the Afghan who saved him, the guy was actually back at the hotel here in America when they were doing this interview.

When the Taliban found out this guy had saved Luttrell, they blew up his car, burned down his house and shot him in efforts to kill him... so when Luttrell and an interpreter pick this guy up at the airport, Luttrell asks him whats the first thing he'd like to do in America... his witty reply was "well, my first thought was to blow up your car, burn down your house and shoot you!"

LMAO

CAN.

NOT.

WAIT.

I read somewhere that Luttrell signed all the paperwork to have the movie made he went around the room, shook everyone's (making the movie) hand, looked them in the eye and told each of them if they ruined his friends names he'd hunt them down and kill them. And then he left. LMAO

This was really good. Hard to watch, at points. (I mean, it's in the title.) But, good.

I read the book a yearish or two ago. It's an amazing story.

I assume the movie is no where as opinionated as Marcus is in the book. Id like to see it.. So many interesting movies just released.
