You should probably take it easy once every 8 weeks or so.

That doesn't mean you have to do NOTHING, but either do half the weight of your normal workouts that week, or half the sets.

Don't think about it as an impediment to your progress. You won't lose any gains you've made in a week. Think of it like an oil change in your car. Preventative maintenance.

well ok - ty for that.

Also, let me tell you - I'm sore like the dickens today. I guess there's nothing I can really do for that - other than grin and bear it. I have some epsom salt, so there's that. haha

The creatine really helped by the way.

Extremely hot epsom salt bath. It really helps.

Be sure you get that damned water HOT!

Simply Red 12-09-2013 08:59 AM

my soreness is way down now.

I've done a lot of other obstacle races, but not spartan. I'm planning to do it next summer, though. I really like doing them. They're a blast.

Almonds are probably better than peanuts and cashews.

Reading thru the last couple pages of this thread is getting me motivated. In fact I think I'm gonna go eat some eggs right now and go ahead and start my rest week.

Edit : I ate some boiled peanuts. Two cans in fact.
