US breaks up - where do you live?
 

Let's say the United States breaks up. The government is annihilated.

Out of necessity and habit, the land quickly forms into seven sovereign nations like this:

Now, if you have a problem with how this is divided up, tough shit. Everything happened far too quickly for people to really think about who they should get paired up with. This is couples' skate, and partners are going fast. So we all just grab someone as quick as we can and hope we're not the awkward kid hanging out by the Karate Champ console.

That kid ALWAYS gets beat up.

So...

You have the means and ability to move to one of these sovereign nations. Where would you go? What would you expect each of their national identities to be? Who becomes the wealthiest nation? The most powerful? The happiest? The healthiest?

And most importantly, which nation gets all the respect?

4 is where my heart is.

I wonder if anyone would actually leave where they live right now. NO ONE will choose Nation 3, but you know it would be by far the most "free." No one would mess with you for any reason. Ever.

Definitely want to be in 4.

Nation no.2 Good hunting, fishing, and mostly a "Don't step on my toes and I won't step on yours" kind of attitude.

My wife's godfather has a cabin in a small Colorado town above the timber line. Man... it's so true. You don't **** with nobody, and nobody dares **** with you.

I'm looking at this from a survival standpoint - I want to be with Texas - guns and food is good.

If we're just talking about where we'd like to live from just a "that's nice" standpoint, I'll take Region 3 and the Black Hills.

4 looks like the place to be.

Texas has plenty of weaponry, so they'll protect all the good farmland. So, I'll have food and security.
