Rivera staying with Panthers.

Per ESPN ticker.

For those who were wanting him.

If repost... don't care.

ChiefMojo 01-05-2013 12:02 PM

With no Rivera, I would watch names like Monte Kiffin and Mel Tucker. What could be other options?

O.city 01-05-2013 12:05 PM

Ray Horton from Arizona.

Hoover 01-05-2013 12:07 PM

Dick Juron
DB Coach for SF

Tombstone RJ 01-05-2013 12:08 PM

Jim Johnson

Hoover 01-05-2013 12:09 PM

-Dick Juron
-DB Coach for SF
are names I've seen

I heard Romeo is available. LMAO

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:10 PM

We have used Dick Curl and Bill Muir. It's not like there isn't precedent for dead coaches on our staff.

If Reid hires Monte Kiffen, I am going to really turn sour.

O.city 01-05-2013 12:11 PM

No thanks to Kiffin.

Would there be any interest in Kevin Greene if John Dorsey is hired as GM?

Yes, but they are getting a new HC, figure he'll wanna bring in his own guy. Or atleast we can hope.

Well, from me there would be.

BigMeatballDave 01-05-2013 12:15 PM

I'm good with Juron.

No to Kiffin.

I'm hoping too.

O.city 01-05-2013 12:18 PM

He's getting some looks as a HC, there in Zona atleast. I know TBG said that Reid was high on him but they weren't wanting to wait around to see what happens.

aturnis 01-05-2013 12:19 PM

Damn.

ChiefMojo 01-05-2013 12:19 PM

Oh I want nothing to do with Kiffin or the Tampa 2! Just have seen his name as a possibility.

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:20 PM

I'd be pleased with the following:

Winston Moss
Kevin Greene
Ken Norton
Keith Butler (Hey, LeBeau is staying another year.)
Mike Singletary (The guy knows defense)
Jim Tomsula

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:21 PM

Jauron would be fine, too. As would Horton.

O.city 01-05-2013 12:21 PM

Kevin Butler would be a grand slam, as would Greene.

Great list. Really like Moss.

ChiefMojo 01-05-2013 12:22 PM

I like Jauron but his problem for us is that he is a 4-3 guy.

Thig Lyfe 01-05-2013 12:24 PM

NOOOOOOOO

ChiefMojo 01-05-2013 12:27 PM

I would prefer Moss over Greene if we go GB route. More experience.

ChiefsCountry 01-05-2013 12:28 PM

Darren Perry from Green Bay is another name to keep an eye on.

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:29 PM

The only thing about Moss is that if he has success he's almost certainly a HC hire next offseason. Maybe Greene can build this thing. Loved his attitude as a player, believe he's the same as a coach. Aggressive QB killer. Perfect for Arrowhead.

I'd love Greene as a DC. I'm kinda sick of old mother****ers like Crennel coming in and doing the same shit they've been doing for 20 years. Let's get some new blood in that booth.

ChiefMojo 01-05-2013 12:31 PM

True that is the backlash to Moss, he is prime HC material within the near future. Interviewed for the Raiders job last year.

Micjones 01-05-2013 12:31 PM

Give me:
Ray Horton
Dick Jauron
Ted Monachino
Clarence Brooks
Kevin Greene

I'd rather have Jauron than Kiffin.

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:32 PM

Is there anyone here that really wants Kiffin? He may be more dead than Jim Johnson.

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:33 PM

Either way, I'm rooting for the Vikings so we can go raid Vince's palace this week. Let's go get us a GM and a DC.

Thig Lyfe 01-05-2013 12:33 PM

I'd love Ken Norton, too. That Seattle defense is great, and I'd love to see how Hali, Houston, and DJ respond to being coached by a relatively young former All-Pro LB.

Really I'd just like to see us hire big-name coaches who I remember playing in the NFL. Makes me feel... mature.

The Franchise 01-05-2013 12:34 PM

I'm on the "Anyone but Kiffin" bandwagon.

My question is whether John Dorsey would have any influence on Reid in terms of scheme and the DC to run it?

Or is Reid inflexible and tied to a 43?

CaliforniaChief 01-05-2013 12:37 PM

I do think it's the most important decision for Reid...it has to be someone who's going to be able to give this group an identity. It's a great opportunity to restore the aggressive style of defense that makes big plays and intimidates QB's. Nothing gets the crowd going more than that. And getting Arrowhead Magic back will be essential to our ability to field competitive teams.

Haley is going to attempt to be the HC, OC, and DC for his 2nd chance.

AussieChiefsFan 01-06-2013 03:47 AM

damn

RunKC 01-06-2013 04:37 AM

If we hire Dick Jauron we're ****ed. That guy is an average at best DC.

Sassy Squatch 01-06-2013 06:46 AM

Im surprised Singletary has never been a DC

RealSNR 01-06-2013 07:25 AM

Why the hell do people want a 4-3 guy. ANY 4-3 guy?

Contrary to popular belief, this team isn't starting over from scratch. We're drafting a QB, revamping the offense, and tweaking the defense. All of that's going to happen in one offseason, and then we're off. Whether we have immediate success or not is another question, but still. Reid's gonna want to keep this personnel in place as much as he can.

I dont want a 43 guy but its the reality according to the rumors and tidbits. I want an attacking 34 DC and not one who makes houston drop back in pass coverage 15 times a game

Seahawks run that 34/43 Hybrid defense where they use basically 3 DTs and 1 DE/OLB in the base front

pass rush situations they sub in another DE (Bruce Irvin)

ChiefMojo 01-07-2013 06:28 AM

Seattle runs a 4-3 under (the rumored defensive style we are likely going to). A 4-3 under looks very similar to a 3-4 due to the type of personnel and namely where the SLB is lined up.
