We haven't seen the Shield yet tonight. Maybe they save Bryan. /wishful thinking

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 08:51 PM

I hope so I'm gonna be really angry if they feed his ego again

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 08:52 PM

Here is the shield and kane

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 08:53 PM

Hmm maybe shield turns on HHH?

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 08:53 PM

Not much time left

Al Bundy 04-07-2014 08:55 PM

HHH better not win this title.

Sassy Squatch 04-07-2014 08:55 PM

Yeah there won't be a title change.

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 08:55 PM

If Bryan wins this match his popularity will sky rocket it's what's best for WWE. Does HHH do what's best for the company or does he feed the ego hmm...

99% guaranteed that HHH does what's best for the company. He's been doing that in his executive role for a while now. The only reason we still fear that he could "put himself over" in this match is because he's done such a good job of using his bad reputation to make his current heel character so convincing.

TLO 04-07-2014 09:00 PM

Taking their sweet time getting the main event going.

TLO 04-07-2014 09:01 PM

So Bryan is going to get the shit beat out of him. Great...

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 09:02 PM

Crap here we go

Sassy Squatch 04-07-2014 09:02 PM

Shield for the save.

Yep.

Sassy Squatch 04-07-2014 09:08 PM

Bryan better get up soon. Looking weak

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 09:08 PM

Called it nice

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 09:14 PM

Sets up now evolution vs shield

Jerm 04-07-2014 09:18 PM

They'll never do it but this begs for War Games...

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 09:21 PM

Man that would be awesome Daniel Bryan vs Brock will be interesting.

I think Brock will be gone for a bit. Cesaro got paired up with Heyman to keep him on TV

Yes. Lesnar/Bryan won't happen until SummerSlam at the earliest.

keg in kc 04-07-2014 09:40 PM

Crazy ****ing crowd.

Pasta Little Brioni 04-07-2014 09:46 PM

Pretty interesting

KCrockaholic 04-07-2014 09:46 PM

Seeing RVD again made the show for me. And seeing Cesaro officially separate himself. You can see a lot of future plans from this episode.

Sassy Squatch 04-07-2014 09:52 PM

Really is like starting a whole new chapter. Don't really understand Batista all of a sudden being buddy buddy with the Authority but W/E

chiefscafan 04-07-2014 09:53 PM

Yep shield in a war vs new formed evolution

kcxiv 04-07-2014 10:28 PM

im not big n rasslin anymore, but, i watched the hall induction and WMXXX yesterday and i was socked that i kept interested. About to watch Raw now. Damn, i might actually get back into this shit. lol

58kcfan89 04-07-2014 10:28 PM

Heyman's promo was beautiful. When he does that with Cesaro, I'm going to mark out so hard.

As a gigantic Punk mark, I hate to agree, but you're right. If the rumors were true and Bryan was supposed to wrestle Sheamus last night, none of this is going on unless Punk walks out.

That said, I really would like to see him come back at some point before next year's Mania. He could have an awesome match/feud with a lot of guys on the roster, namely Bryan. I'm losing faith that he ever will with each passing week.

I'm so happy right now. Would have liked to see more of an actual match, but I won't argue with the result.

I thought the same thing. I'm imagining he's going to be a face, seeing as how the crowd freaking loves him. If they're going to feud him with Swagger for the time being, he's definitely going to be the face in that match.

Crowd singing his theme was fantastic.

I wasn't around for the 80s but from what I understand, it was very similar to what we just went through with Cena playing the part of Hogan. No matter how over Edge, Punk, Miz, etc. were, Cena was the focus all the damn time.

As for the Attitude Era, it depends on how you want to look at it. In terms of how over the company is to the public, I don't know if there's the Austin/Rock/Sting/Taker/etc character that's going to make kids wear the t-shirts to school the next day. And I think the PG thing hampers a bit of the excitement (WM 13 wouldn't have been the same if Austin passes out minus the blood). But in terms of potential match quality and depth of the roster, you might be on to something.

It certainly looks a lot better than it did a few months/years ago. The company seems to be more willing to let the younger guys take the spotlight than they used to be. Between Bryan, Cesaro, Wyatt, The Shield and my girl Paige (to say nothing of the guys in NXT that I'm not totally familiar with), there's a ton of good, young talent that's over with the fans. It's been a long damn time since we were able to say that.

I wouldn't go that far, but they are turning around what was a sinking ship. Last night's RAW was one of the best in a long, long time.

chiefscafan 04-08-2014 06:58 AM

I agree because they stopped being predictable that was the problem two years ago. Last time they were shocking was when they had super Cena parading around in the ring. Then his music stops and cm punk comes out to cult of personality. CM punk doing the pipe bomb bout mcmahons and heyman's speeches were bout the only non predictable WWE thing over couple of years.

keg in kc 04-08-2014 09:44 AM

What's going on right now is an improvement over the past couple of years, but I don't think it's even close to wrestling in the mid-90s. I don't think anything has ever come close to the insanity that having WWF, WCW and ECW all going on at the same time was, speaking as somebody who watched all three live every week (in college at the time). For a while, it was like weekly event television, and it was awesome.

Then WCW killed itself...

As for last night, the Bryan stuff was great, Heyman was great (both times) and Cesaro was great. I still think the Wyatts are the dumbest thing I've seen since the Boogeyman, but people seem to eat that weird deliverance shit up so...okay.

Still, I think most of what made last night's show good was the crowd, and that happens every year the day after mania. That hardcore audience elevates the show. Things will get back to normal next week when it's back to a crowd full of families and little kids instead of smarks.

This thread is starting to act gitchy for me. Might I suggest that Reaper start a new one?

I didn't argue that, though. I just argue that WWE's product is the best its ever been.

Done. Mods, feel free and lock this lumbering husk.

TLO 04-08-2014 09:59 AM

Went back and re-watched all of RAW from last night.

The crowds reaction to Bryan, and Bryan look like he might bust out into tears of happiness from the "you deserve it" chants was fantastic. A very memorable moment.

Cesaro, The Shield, Wyatt Family, and more. Wrestleing has suddenly become very interesting again.

I was basically saying that I thought all three were better than WWE's product right now. Not just collectively.

ModSocks 04-08-2014 10:10 AM

I was watching Nacho Libre the other night with my 7 yr old son. The luchador stepped out of the car and my son who's never watched wrestling in his life asks, "Who's that". I tell him it's a Mexican Wrestler and he says, "No, i think it's John Cena".

I think he's finally at the age to start watching this stuff....around the same age i started watching....back when the Undertake wore purple and had an Urn.

I know. I was trying to agree with you without explicitly conceding anything on my end. ;)

chiefscafan 04-14-2014 07:17 PM

So Cesaro has no new music still?

Reaper16 04-14-2014 07:35 PM

The combination of Lana's entrance music as an orchestral prelude to Rusev's Kanye-like banger is all I've ever needed in life.

Reaper16 04-14-2014 07:36 PM

I hope Rusev brings back the board for his first PPV match.

BryanBusby 04-14-2014 08:33 PM

We're back to this thread?

Spoiler!

Totally spaced out tonight and forgot about Raw. :)

CoMoChief 01-22-2018 06:40 PM

Is this the correct WWE thread?

Anyways, if so...Raw25 is on tonight...gonna be another nostalgic part-Attitude Era show.

Probably will be better than anything they've produced since the AE ended.

CoMoChief 01-22-2018 07:16 PM

STONE COLD!!!! STONE COLD!!!! STONE COLD!!!!

I don't think this is the most recent, but I'm definitely watching.
