I think Abdullah proved this weekend he can do that quite well, surprisingly.

Abdullah was a rising young player before he took a year off. We've seen with EB that it takes safeties a good year to get their feet back under them. Abdullah has great ball skills and should see a lot of playing time next year.

Okay, this is going to sound really ****ing stupid, but I will say it anyway: Taylor Mays made his college career playing cover 1, centerfield for USC. He could be a nice sleeper as a system fit. Bring him into camp just to see if he can still do that.

The players need to make plays, Thomas made his a long time ago.

Their technique sucks. So do they, but it still sucks. He shouldn't be safe. No one associated with that dumpster fire should be safe.

I wouldn't mind that at all.

As long as he is cheap. Didn't he do not a damn thing when he was drafted or am I thinking of someone else?

Buehler445 01-06-2014 03:57 PM

As for Talib, I don't want him. Didn't want him after watching him at KU. Dude's got a $.10 head for sure. Maybe he's gotten himself lined out, but I don't want that.

Hope they can fix it all under 8m that's all the cap space we will have after Robinson and all get cut.

We should have more than 8.

We have 120 spoken for.

This year, the cap went up 3 million to 123.9, so its logical to expect it to go up to 126-127 in 2014.

We have about 2.6 million to rollover from 2013.

Cutting Robinson gets us 3.3 million.

We should have 12-15 million to play with.

This is a pretty shitty FA class and the Chiefs will be strapped for cap spending. They really need to focus on keeping their own players they want to keep and maybe take a look at like Lamaar Houston to replace Tyson Jackson and a veteran FS for the short-term and on the cheap.

Letting Albert walk knocks $9.8 million off our cap number, also.

It does not, as he has no cap figure for 2014.

Well, shit.

Whitner is a strong safety isn't he?

Byrd would be great.... and throw in a FA corner to be safe.

mcaj22 01-06-2014 04:44 PM

Taylor Mays has done nothing in four years, just plays special teams

Chris Meck 01-06-2014 04:50 PM

I'd look at Decker OR Maclin. I'm not a Bowe hater, I just think he's either wrong for this system or just flat overpaid. I'd like to trade him if anybody'd give anything for him and take his salary. Actually, no, if they'd just take his salary I'd take a Z-man sandwich for him and sign Decker AND Maclin. Rookie WR's never produce, so this is a spot to sign vets.

I'd let Asamoah walk, he's been a disappointment. I'd re-sign Schwartz. Draft OL in 3rd.

I'd let Albert walk. Too much money, too many injury concerns and just above average play. I move Fisher to LT where he's more comfortable. Draft or sign an affordable replacement swing tackle.

Talib would be a great pickup. Let Robinson go.

Whitner's good, but isn't he more of a thumper type? That's where we play Berry. We need a an upgrade at FS something awful, but I don't know that he's a fit.

Just my .02. Do-able, I think even. Keep in mind, most FA signings don't have the impact that you hope they will and most improvement comes via draft and young player's natural improvement.

saphojunkie 01-06-2014 04:52 PM

My number one hope for the offseason is Jairus Byrd. He is quickly followed by Eric Decker. I know everyone hates Decker as a big fat whiny bitch face, but the guy is actually pretty damn awesome and I think would absolutely open up the offense.
