My mom needs a little help
 

Taking a break from the hospital and the time is getting near for my mom to pass on to the next life.

She is ready to die and it is not scared. As she has been telling everyone that she will see them on the other side. She is far stronger than I ever will be.

My parents are 3 months short of their 60th anniversary so this will be a huge adjustment for my dad.

If you have moment sometime in the next day or so and if you want please say a little prayer for her. We would greatly appreciate it.

I hope her passing is easy and your memories are fond.

As good a person as you appear to be on here, she has reason to be proud.

First I want to thank everybody for their kind words and thoughts. It has brought a tears to me eyes and we do appreciate all the kind words and prayers.

My mom was only given 1-2 days to live and now she is on Day 5. The last couple of months have been rough for her from going to KU Med to help with her Parkinson's to going to a nursing home to get better and then getting sick. She was diagnosed with toxic megacolon a week ago and she decided that she didn't want to have her colon removed. So the hospital can't do anymore for her so they are kicking us out tomorrow which is ok.

She is going home surrounded by her loved ones and with the care of Hospice.

My only hope is she doesn't suffer and goes into the next life pain free....

It's hard to let go yet you are handling it gracefully. Hang in there. I'm dropping this but please keep us updated as frequently as you need some support or want to give us news.

Toxic megacolon? That sounds all kinds of bad. Prayers to you, your family, and your mother. I believe she will be more comfortable at home surrounded by your family then she would be at the hospital.

Seems like forever since I started this thread..

My mom passed away last night at 9PM. It has been a long journey and I am glad and thankful she finally found peace.

One of the things she told me when this started was "Life your life and have fun and when you get a moment smile and think of me."

I will certainly do that. Goodbye Mom.

My mom passed away in 1991, when I look up at the stars at night I see the brightest one, that's her. I smile and think of her.

Sorry bud. She was tough. Given a couple days and hung in there over a month... Glad you got that time with her.

I don't post often but wanted to express my sympathy for you and your family. Both of my parents are fighting cancer are about the same age as yours, so I will be going through this, hopefully years from now, but you never know. I moved back from CA to KC last year to be with them and enjoy the last few years of our lives together.

Prayer said for your Mom Dirk, I remember my own Mother in that Hospital said she was ready to go. I pray your Mother goes peacefully and I wish your family the best.
