I appreciate the sentiment, and we would've have gotten Durant, as long as Stern rigged the draft for us the same he did for Bennett, but the OKC ownership group put that team together. The nutless wonder, Howard Schultz would've never paid the coin to put that team together, because he's a piece of shit. Give us the damn jerseys, team color, and name back and I'm good.

The **** I don't. The Sonics were my 3rd favorite team in all of sports behind the Chiefs and Washington Huskies when they were ripped away. I supported them losing the same as I did the Chiefs. I don't feel good about anyone having to go through something like that. It's ****ed, and it hurts, and it leaves a scar if you're a passionate fan.

I'd like to say time heals all wounds, but it hasn't. That said, we get the team name, colors, and jerseys back, we'll claim the ****ing championship whether anyone likes it or not because we won the sonofabitch. I want to get back into basketball. Badly. So, I may chalk it up as Seattle leadership, dickless Howard Schultz, and David Stern are all evil incarnations of Satan that I hope has to watch their families suffer in some unfathomable form. We get the green and gold rolling back up in Seatown, and I may get sucked right back in. I don't know yet. I do know it won't be about wins and losses. It'll be the heart and soul of the team, the town, the fans, this apparently God like new owner, and the game itself that will win me over.

There was a hardcore fanbase that was pissed from day one like Flop, and I feel for those fans. The major uproar began when the Thunder became the darlings of the NBA.
However, Seattle is doing the same thing to Sacramento that OKC did to Seattle. The same thing that Sacremento did to my Kings when I was 12 years old.
It's business and the community made the decision. If the Thunder weren't making the playoffs would you still want those players?

You've been as gracious as humanly possible throughout this whole thing. You are every bit of a Thunder fan as I was a Sonic fan. I'm happy that you have the ability to experience some of the things I experienced as a fan for as long as I did. An OKC/Seattle rivalry is immenent if Hansen puts forth the resources to build the team as he has to build the arena, and the rights to get a team back in Seattle. That will be fun. And don't be surprised when I say it's the old Sonics vs. the new Sonics. :D |
