Name Movies that Should Never Be Remade
 

Recently had an opportunity to acquire rights to a classic film that I hold in such high regard I wouldn't want to even think about, let alone actually do, a remake or sequel. What movies would you consider off-limits for a remake or sequel?

Star Wars IV, V, VI

Big Lebowski

There are more, but it's 2:30 am.

the blues brothers animal house crimson tide

Chinatown
Godfather I, II
Big Trouble in Little China
Beetlejuice
Anything by Scorsese, Tarantino, Peter Jackson or Coen Brothers.
Edward Scissorhands
Momento
The Usual Suspects

Spider man. I'm tired of all the spider men.

Casablanca
The Graduate
Clockwork Orange
Dirty Harry
Terminator
Kojack


There are scores of iconic movies that stand alone and should never be touched. Roles by Nicholson, Walken, DeNiro, that I don't think any producer in their right minds would touch. Might want to ask what should be remade.

Ghostbusters
Beverley Hills Cop
The Usual Suspects

Not all but what I can think of right off the top of my head.

Poltergeist remake coming in 2014.

Just to name a few.

And to quote Jay Sherman from Comming Attractions (from the show The Critic) "If the movie is a remake of a classic, go see the classic!"

Casablanca was remade in the 80's as a tv series...totally bombed as you might expect. And there is a sequel\remake in the works.

Horrible idea.
