MONSTERS...

:hmmm:

Quote:

Synopsis
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and grow. In an effort to stem the destruction that resulted, half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain the massive creatures... Our story begins when a jaded US journalist (McNairy) begrudgingly agrees to find his boss’ daughter, a shaken American tourist (Able) and escort her through the infected zone to the safety of the US border.

Finally a good monster movie for the modern theatre audience?...

Looks sweet.

I loved Cloverfield and this looks similar so I'll def. be checking it out.

Looks like District 9 and Cloverfield had a baby, pumpe dit up on roids, and set it loose. I'll probably see it.

I think that's exactly what I said to my wife when we saw the trailer last week.

Looks like a winner.

If any of you use torrents, there's already a screener for this out. Just fyi. :D

Does a screener copy mean its the final product?

Usually yes. Not always though. There's other copies too called R5's (region 5), Workprints, etc. Screeners are usually the most complete copies unless you go to the theatres, or wait for the dvds. R5s for the most part are pretty complete too. Workprints a lot of the times still have some work to be done on them. For "Monsters" though as far as I know there are only screeners up at the moment. It only went up online Sunday or so give or take, so I haven't had time to view it yet myself....though it is on my harddrive waiting to be watched.

Just saw a trailer on HDnet. Looks interesting.

Oh, it also premieres on HDNet on Oct. 27th before it hits theaters.

HDNet does that with a lot of movies these days...putting them on tv before they hit theatres that is. Isn't that Mark Cuban's channel? Gotta love the guy.

There's a DVD quality torrent of it out already. Or so I heard.

Between this and the Legendary Picture's reboot of Godzilla scheduled for 2012 the giant monster genre might be making a comeback.

DJ's left nut 09-30-2010 10:53 AM

Does it take place in Peru?
