Congrats on the back-to-back wins though. That's impressive against the Braves.

He no Evan Gattis yet.

Dude, he's Bo Jackson recinarnated? Tearing up AA, and getting walked with a guy on third base(even though there were 2 bases open)!!! I'm going penor for Puig!

Simply Red 06-08-2013 08:44 AM

If Evan Gattis played in LA.. They'd have named a street after him and he'd be known, globally.

No, you referred to Francour as being White, and I asked what color was trout. Hes White. Get the comparison genius.........

I'm not saying he's the next Bo Jackson, It's just what I heard. Doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to see we finally have a player to be excited for. Kemp is always banged up.

**** you.......Sincerely, the reigning WS champs.

Will this guy be a superstar... or the Jeremy Lin of baseball.

Jeremy Lin had marginal talent. What he did, was play in new York where he was showcased, and embraced by every Asian in the world....hes a horrible basketball player.

Dodgers just didnt want to reward him with bringing him up to fast, which is ****ing stupid! Then again, they had, Crawford, Kemp and Either in the outfield, but 2 guys went down so he came up!

They probably kept him down like the Giants kept posey down, to extend out his rookie and arbitration years. This spells the end of Eithier in LA one would have to think.

That's the BEST thing about Griffey: There is no way in the world that anyone will ever question if he played the game the right way.

If he had juiced (which I'm glad he did not), he'd have blown away Bonds.

If Bonds hadn't juiced, he would of been the only member of the 500/500 club. He also was a 4 time MVP before he started juicing, and was already one of the best players in the league. The reason he wasn't recognized as such was he is an Asshole, and didn't play nice with the media like Griffey. Barry Bonds was every bit of the player that Junior was, and a better hitter.

Either is a goner. By putting Puig in rf instead of center is the writing on the wall. Once Kemp comes back he goes to center and there is not a spot for Dre.

No way in hell can they justify sending Puig back down.

Shut up n00b. I have a big cock for you to suck on. Just don't choke.

Ethier has never been anything more than a solid starter in his best years. That contract was absolutely asinine.

It was damned close. Maybe Griffey had a little more power before the juice, But Bonds was really really ****ing good.

Ken Griffey Jr, in his first 5 years, hit for higher average, had better numbers overall, and was the best defensive outfielder in the game.

Thig Lyfe 06-08-2013 05:27 PM

Griffey was my HERO, man.

Griffey is my favorite baseball player ever. By far. My entire baseball career I wore #24. In fact, my number in every sport was #24. I hit lefty so I tried to emulate my swing after Jr.

That being said...

He was not the hitter Barry Bonds was...pre or (obviously) post steroids. His swing was the most beautiful thing in sports...but Bonds was ALWAYS the better hitter. ALWAYS.

Hootie 06-08-2013 06:01 PM

from 1992 to 2007 Barry Bonds' lowest .OPS (the most important metric to determine how good of a hitter someone is) was .999.

Griffey only had an .OPS over 1.000 4 times and was only over .900 TWICE from 2000-2010.

and here is my best Barry Bonds proof that steroids didn't suddenly turn him from star to superstar...that he was always superstar

1993: 129/46/123 .336/.458/1.136 (29 SBs)
1994: (Strike Season) 37 HR's in 112 games

He was raking better than Miguel freaking Cabrera in 1993. He was on pace for like 55 HR's in 1994.

Barry Bonds was always the best in the game. Steroids just turned him into a guy that somehow managed to get on base 61% of the time in a single year LMAO

Loved some backhand no spin bowling, where you release with slight initial backspin with the back of your hand forward. What I lost in pin action, I more than gained in control.

Sorry, I must call bullshit on your "220" average. Your second paragraph gave you away. It's like somebody claiming to know something about football and then talking about the time a quarterback kicked a touchdown.

Hootie 06-08-2013 06:04 PM

and as much as I love Griffey (and I do), his WAR from 2000-2010 was BARELY above replacement level most seasons.

Griffey was a sensation in the 90s. He was then washed up for 10 years. I'm happy he (and Frank Thomas) didn't succomb to peer pressure and roid up...

but I can also respect the best roider in the roid era...Barry Bonds was ****ing awesome.
