That's the press. Finding some one who has been in that position thinking it is almost the same.

It's worse on political matters. STFU

Flanagan was still an OK person from what I read.

He's still a stupid mother****er who hired Gunter and fired him over the internet, drafted LJ, thought just bringing in Gunter for DC was enough for one offseason, can't draft worth a SHIT unless a coach with decent prior success helped him and never wanted to draft a QB in the first round because he was too scared.

**** King Carl.

Yeah he was a ****ing idiot for drafting a RB to replace one that was getting up there in age and had a gimp hip. As much as a **** LJ was, he was a damn good RB for a few seasons and this entire team leaned on him in 2006 while we had Damon ****ing Huard as a QB.

But I will agree, that he should have left after 2005. The entire philosophy w/ the DV hire was that this was DV's last go around...he was old but still had a little spark of coaching left. Carl went all out to trade away draft picks and assemble a team that could win NOW. We came somewhat close in 2003. But Carl did everything the coaches wanted him to do...he went out and got players the coaches wanted..and that's all you could have asked for.

Look at is this way....had he left in 2005, he would have left the cupboard bare completely ...no Charles or any of that 2008 draft which could now with a good coaching staff and HC (hopefully an answer at QB) will make this team a winner

Carl was a failure because he never addressed the QB position other than signing retreads from other teams. Pioli never addressed any position on the team period. Signed dumb**** players in FA and drafted for shit.

Atleast Carl and his coaches drafted well to an extent.

That speaks to our unfortunate history more than it does his success.

Easily his biggest failing.

Not at all like Reid. Only 3 playoff wins vs 10. Plus, no SB.

****ing dumb.

He drafted Mike Elkins in his first year in the second round. He drafted Matt Blundin in the second round. He drafted Stanford QB Steve Stenstrom in the 4th round, only to have him snaked by the Bears. He drafted Croyle in the third.

Meanwhile, he brought in Dave Kreig, Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Rich Gannon and Trent Green.

Drafting a QB was an inexact science from 1920 - 2010. There weren't 10 million draft "Guru's" or "film" on every kid going back to 5th grade. It was a different world.

Peterson completely transformed a disenchanted fan base and made the Chiefs experience what it is today. Without him, they'd be gone from KC.

Do Lions reporters call Matt Millen for his take every time they make a hire?

Carl didnt fail here. He did just the opposite

He and Marty rebuilt this franchise/fan base.

He made us relevant in the NFL, something we havent been since he left.

From 1987 Hudson to 2007 Croyle that actually started a game. I would say that's signing retreads from other teams.
You're also leaving out Deberg, Huard and Thigpen.

Because this fan base embraces losers. See qbs since ever. Loser franchise loser fanbase

Elkins, Blundin and Stenstrom never started a ****ing game for KC. Never were allowed to develop under Peterson. Why? Because Carl loved him some veteran QB's.

Why? It's an undeniable fact genius.

The only reason we're so pissed off is because Carl gave us something cool and we want it back.
