This must be Hollywood's new plan - flood theaters with complete poo, then make movies that busboys have written just so producers/directors can FINALLY get them off their respective asses, then watch profits flow in as the public flocks to a "new idea" movie. Bastards.

I am very interested in that movie. The books were great.

Yup, in my opinion even better than the Tarzan stuff that Burroughs wrote.

However, I am betting this is nothing like the books. Good or bad, I don't know yet.

I was hoping for a Saturday morning high action, tense drama on the edge of your seats like the original Indiana Jones captured from the Saturday morning mini movies of the 1950s.

Someone needs to take a run at another Doc Savage movie sometime.

There are no battleships serving in the US Navy anymore...I think the USS Wisconsin and the USS Missouri were the last two, and they were decommissioned...20 years ago?

Damn I thought it was going to be a movie about battleships I was getting excited until I saw that ****ing space ship.

I guess we can officially call Liam "Nicholas Cage II" since he will take any role offered to him regardless of the lack of story and idea.

New trailer is out.....i think its pretty obvious what movie series they are ripping off here.

I am severely disappointed that this is not a movie adaptation of the board game.

Honestly.....im not sure how you would do it? The game has no story and its really pretty basic and simple.

I'm personally holding out for a Stratego movie.

I wrote a script based on Chutes and Ladders that's getting a lot of attention in Hollywood right now. Rolling in the dough soon.

A Battleship movie must have the following things:
1. Christopher Lee as the villain.
2. The basic plot of "cat and mouse."

The movie practically writes itself.

I would pay good money to see a Chutes and Ladders movie.

Turns out the movie was enjoyable enough. It could have been better though. Too bad. They could have started an amazing franchise.

Funny, I just said to someone that "Battleship" looks like someone ate a Michael Bay film, crapped out the pieces, and put it back together. I'm sure it's a brainlessly entertaining 90 minutes, but I probably wouldn't pay to see it.

I used to think Peter Berg was fairly talented, but this looks like crap.

Cant wait... to rent it in 4 months.

This should NOT be called Battleship.

It was one of my favorite games as a kid and I don't recall fighting ****ing Aliens.

Taken was great.

I'd imagine Liam is getting a nice chunk for this.

It was funny that in one of the trailers someone says something along the lines of, "we can't see where they are so how are we supposed to hit them!" That was the final straw for me not seeing this in the theaters.

Solidly awful. At least its not in 3D.

It's pretty meh. Not the most awful movie you've ever seen. Action, explosion, aliens.

I wouldn't spend any popcorn money on it though...

Absolutely positively zero to do with the Battleship game, other than a couple half humorous references.

36% Rotten.

However, this film was released in mid-April overseas--probably to avoid "The Avengers"--and to date it's grossed $200M worldwide before even opening in the states. So the makers probably won't lose too much sleep about how it does in the U.S., as they've already done well with it worldwide.

Interesting how the big studios cater as much if not more to the overseas market now. My guess is that's why Aliens were chosen as the primary villians for this. So not to offend or turnoff any one audience overseas.

independence day part2 pretty much.

Just watched it (free rental from Redbox). It was pretty bad. I enjoyed the explosions/aliens/etc, but the rest was laughable at times. The scene with all the old guys perched at various points around the USS Missouri was funny.

As a Navy veteran, I know better than to watch this turd - it would just piss me off.

I have absolutely no doubt. You'd probably lose your mind about some of the things that happen in this movie. LMAO

So I'm watching this tonight, and I was cool with it until the WWII vets showed up on the Missouri to save the day.
