iPhone contacts question

My job has supplied me with a iPhone for on call purposes. I have all my gmail contacts loaded but they won't backup to iCloud at all. What am I doing wrong?

Need more than that to try to help you, dude. You told us two things:

1. You have an iPhone
2. It has problems

Uh, I said my gmail contacts that were loaded to the phone are not backing up to iCloud.

Because the Gmail contacts are in a cloud not on the device itself.

Right. You're using an MS Exchange server (or similar) to access your Gmail so they won't back up to an Apple Cloud.

I've had an iPhone for two years using Gmail and I've never lost my contacts.

I had a feeling that was probably the case. Just seemed odd that only one contact was backing up to icloud.

That is odd. Is it someone with an .me or .mac email address?

Actually, now that I think about it, it is me. It was the contact I had to manually create for Siri.

I really don't like this phone but I'm trying not to bitch since the company is paying for it. heh Absolutely cannot stand that damn keyboard.

Yeah, I don't like mine, either. I'm eligible for an upgrade in January so I'll likely switch to something else, although I rarely use it because we don't get reception in my home.

another question, My android phone used poweramp as a music player so whenever I plugged headphones in it would automatically start playing my music. Is it safe to assume a idevice will not do this?

It won't. It will only play when you want it to play.
