I've been waiting for this for the longest time! I also love Craig as Bond. James Bond in general is such a badass. One of my fave fictional characters of all time.

Wow, thats interesting....never met one person who liked Dalton as Bond. I gew up with Roger Moore Bonds, most are pretty corny now, but always liked For Your Eyes Only and Spy Who Loved Me.

Here's where I agree with you. Those are the only two Roger Moore 007 flicks that I like and have the DVDs of. The reason they were better was that he played the character in a more serious manner. Not Craig serious, but Connery serious.

And OBTW, Dalton got a raw deal when EOn switched to Brosnan. He was a very good Bond.

Here's why I don't care for Craig as Bond:

They should never have a Bond girl tower over Bond. With Craig that would be a tall order (pardon the pun). The girl in red looks like she can kick the living shit out of him, badass or not.

James Bond Press Conference Confirms ‘Skyfall’ Is Finally Coming, With a New Bond Girl

This morning in London, Sony Pictures had a big press conference about the next James Bond movie, the one that has been rumored and delayed and speculated about for months upon years. Sitting up there on stage were Daniel Craig, and Judi Dench, and director Sam Mendes and even Javier Bardem, who is gonna play the bad guy. It really happened. The movie is totally coming now. They had a press conference: They can't back out at this point.

The more prurient of you are probably wondering: "So, who's the hot Bond girl?" Well, you Y-chromosome-driven Beavis: It's Bérénice Marlohe, a French model who has, in fact, never appeared in an English-speaking movie before. (She has barely been in any French-speaking ones.)

She will play "a glamorous, enigmatic character named Severin." That's to say: A Bond girl. If you want to know a bit more about what she looks like -- and we suspect you do -- JoBlo.com has the definitive photo gallery.

She's also wearing 6 inch heels.

Connery was the best.
Craig brought a new level of toughness to the character.
Brosnan should have had the role back in the 80's but I guess TV screwed that up.
Dalton was good but for some reason just never rang true in the character.
Moore played it way too cheesy.
I need to go back and see the one film with Lazenby because I don't remember him at all.

Craig is badass.

Sounds like they found a good bad guy. Not sure if QoS even had a villain.

This. I didn't totally hate QoS, but it was a huge letdown after Casino Royale. Then again, CR is one of my favorite movies... And Daniel Craig is ****ing awesome.

Haha I'm pretty psyched about that, too. Skyfall + The Hobbit is going to make 2012 kick ass for movies.

Sure they did, it was the one wimpy guy in a suit telling the dictator of another country to kill people for water.... Or something like that...

Which if not it would bring her down to Craig's height. Connery WAS badass AND looked down at his bond girls.

LOL. She isn't standing 6 inches taller than him.

Agree with almost all of what you are saying, except Brosnan. the first time around I was against it even though I enjoyed him as Remington Steele. At that time he was twoo young and thin and weak-chinned to be Bond, IMO. At his second chance his looks had matured enough to look more 'Bondish.'

Also in defense of Brosnan, he did keep complaining about the progressively cheesier direction the producers were taking the Bond flicks and wanted to play an edgier Bond. EON, ironically pretty much fired him and started making edgy Bond movies. I think that was their slap in his face for his bitching.

My only problem with Brosnan was his distractingly high voice. He had the least manly voice among all of the actors who have played Bond.

Lastly, Lazenby was good but he was in the unfortunate position to follow the legend.

That's because you just assumed her heals are 6 inches. Look at the pic below. I lined up the bottom of Craig's foot with hers excluding the high heal. You decide.

Look, Craig is a good actor, but he is too short and blonde to be Bond. Plus that haircut reveals a bit of a pointy head unbecoming 007.

Here's another comparison, jd. Brosnan and Connery are both 6'2".

While I agree that Moore brought a little too much cheese, I don't know for sure if that was him, or the director wanting that. I'm going to blame it on the director since he also decided it would be a good idea to tie in the fat police officer annoying guy into one movie, and then coincidentally have him on vacation in Japan in another movie. (The scene where bond is escaping on the boat with the school of ninjas chasing him).

It's the same thing with Brosnan. He wasn't a bad BOND... but the director/writer had him doing way too much unrealistic stuff with too many stupid one liners. The Bronson movies writing was terrible, except for Goldeneye which was mostly just guilty of cheesy one liners.

So what? Stallone's shorter than that. Bogart had to wear platform heels so Ingrid Bergman wouldn't tower over him in Casablanca. You've got Joe Pesci in your avatar, he'd have to stand on a box to punch Craig in the chest.

I love Bogart, but neither he nor Stallone could play 007.
