I'm going to blame it on the director since he also decided it would be a good idea to tie in the fat police officer annoying guy into one movie, and then coincidentally have him on vacation in Japan in another movie. (The scene where bond is escaping on the boat with the school of ninjas chasing him).

It's the same thing with Brosnan. He wasn't a bad BOND... but the director/writer had him doing way too much unrealistic stuff with too many stupid one liners. The Bronson movies writing was terrible, except for Goldeneye which was mostly just guilty of cheesy one liners.

The difference between Moore and Brosnan's situations is theat I kept reading their interviews when Moore admitted that the producers gave him some free reign over his portrayal of Bond while Brosnan's interviews revealed he was campaigning for an edgier Bond. Moore insists that Bond is a comic book character and must be played somewhat comical.

Neither could Pesci, but my point is they can do all sorts of things to make shorter men seem tall in movies.

Primarily by not having tall women wearing 6" stiletto heels stand next to them.

So what? Stallone's shorter than that. Bogart had to wear platform heels so Ingrid Bergman wouldn't tower over him in Casablanca. You've got Joe Pesci in your avatar, he'd have to stand on a box to punch Craig in the chest.

You must be this tall to be 007, thanks and try again.

Actually Pesci's shortness works for him for the type of badass mob man he plays. It makes him more menacing.

Standing closer to the camera as well...

He's a great actor, but I don't buy into that. And while he was great in Goodfellas, the guy he portrayed was actually a hulking brute in real life. That role should have gone to Michael Madsen, IMO.

That movie, while great, was not realistically cast. Ray Liotta and Robert DeNiro did not look anything like the real characters they played either.

Madsen is an unappreciated actor. Especially for the mob genre.

BTW, back to the subject of Bond, Madsen would have made an awesome recurring Felix Leiter.

I think Madsen would be more awesome as a Bond Villian.

Thanks, looks like a good site. I visit commanderbond.net often. Sort of the Chiefs Planet of the Bond fans.

So much for "the New Bond movie will have the feel of Goldfinger."
