If you want to get technical, I always had the feeling that Springfield was close to the center of the nation, but had proximity to the East Coast. That's as close to a reason as I can give.

I think we could stand a chance. We are centrally located. We've hosted a premiere before (although it was only Meet Joe Black). We have a ton of college students (big Simpsons fans). Oh, and we're close to Branson (not that it helps, but everyone's heard of Branson, right?). :)

Springfield, Mo. has too many strip clubs and chinese places to eat... Plus; on Sundays it seems that everybody and their neighbor gets t-boned at an intersection down there... I've never seen so many wrecks for a Sunday before in any town I've visited...

Looking for a list of all the Springfields. So far, I know of Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Missouri.

EDIT: Also Oregon, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Minnesota wanted nothing to do with it saying their Springfield was nothing like that of the tv show.

There's a Springfield in Nebraska, but it has a population of maybe a few hundred people. I suppose they don't have much of a chance.

I believe the one in Iraq will win...

This town sucks...but hopefully we'll get the premiere. I need something to do this summer.
