Who is everybody's favorite Chief?
I have a problem year in and year out, that I am a big RB guy. I dig running backs, I like the running game. I've never had a guy to root for. Since Okoye (I had him plastered all over my wall at college!), they've had somebody new every year to root for, but they always ended up part of a commitee! I can't root for a commitee, I want one guy to cheer for. I'm seriously rooting for Mike Cloud. I hope he is it, because I'd like to have a real starter on Madden for a change. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ------------------ Parker [i]What? You don't like my username? I thought all techies used randomly generated usernames... |
Call me crazy, but I like Dante Hall. I live in the Houston area, which he also lives, and I've been following this kid since high school. Granted, he's got some things to work on, and a long way to go, but I'd like to see what he's capable of with this team
|
I hate to even say my favorite player because he's become so popular, but I love Tony G. I always root for the underdog and I've loved him since he came here in 97 (even when he was dropping passes left and right!). Of course, now everyone and their mother loves Tony G. Oh well I guess.
While TG remains my fave player, the underdog I'm rooting for now is Kirby Dar Dar. Ya gotta love his name and each year he's out there trying to make the team. I really hope he makes it this time! |
Yeah, we need more guys with names like DarDar. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I really like TRich, but I don't see him being the kind of feature, prototype back I'd like to see the Chiefs have. Don't get me wrong, TRich is an awesome runner, but he won't make the Pro-Bowl that way. He's one of the best blockers in the league and if we'd just put Cloud behind him, they might both go to the bowl. |
The player I like the most has to be Maslowski.
Is there anyone on the planet who has more of the crazed Linebacker ‘tude? A very close second is Patton. Less outward ‘tude, more talent. xoxo~ gaz loves his Defensive animals.
|
I agree with you on TRich - he's an awesome fullback and I think he's most suited to that position. Taking him away from that would hurt us more than it would gain. I think his blocking skills are more important for us than his running skills.

offense: tony g
defense: still open since the loss of dt sec |
Bob Dole has become partial to Donnie Edwards. Great skills and attitude.
|
Mine has to be Tony. The Chiefs has had strong D since Marty got here. I'm looking for an offensive playmaker like Joe Montana, Marcus Allen....etc.
|
I like Ron George. Great ST & reserve LB. I LOVE his vocal and obnoxious qualities....
|
Offense:Tony G
Defense: Donnie edwards and Marvcus Patton. Those guys are Animals! [This message has been edited by kcmax (edited 08-23-2000).] |
What a shocker--Phil likes someone vocally obnoxious.

I'd appreciate it if you would stop posting pictures of Al Davis, Bob....
|
Bob Dole apologizes...
(Bob Dole is still trying to become accustomed to seeing "KPhobia" and any form of "moderate" in the same context.) |
You had a chance to voice your objection, Dole! Now you will live to regret it!!! If you keep running that hole in your face, I'll boot you right now! I bet you are some 120 lb, 14 YO, crater face kid hiding behind your keyboard!

Have any spare astringent pads?
And it appears Bob Dole was working (gasp) when Bob Dole had an opportunity to voice Bob Dole's opinion.
|
Back to the topic http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/tongue.gif I like TRich and Lockett on offense, and Patton/Edwards on defense. I am also hoping I'll also be liking Stills a lot soon, but I have my doubts.
|
Man I'm torn here. I like players that work hard and overcome obstacles. Those that quietly lead.
My picks: Kimbal TRich Glock Hasty Sorry that I couldn't pick just one. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/redface.gif Dev
|
It will be a successful year if I can add Clemons and SlyMo to my list in time for next season!
|
I follow Donnie Edwards on D and Kimble Anders on offense.
2 class acts and terrific contributors in my opinion. Chi [This message has been edited by ChiTown (edited 08-23-2000).] |
FWIW, I'm messing with Bob Dole. We've actually met here in Houston.
|
My favorite (ex)Chiefs...
Keith Traylor, Neil Smith, Greg Robinson... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif |
I guess that would make your favourite ex-Bronco Dan Williams? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif
My favourite ex-Chief would have to be Dale Carter http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/tongue.gif |
Yeah... Dan is great. I'm really sad that he's gone. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
|
I always like to follow the Offensive Line and the Secondary. So my favorite Chiefs are Grunhard and Hasty. I'm really looking forward to watching Tait and Warfield develop.

Well, Cormac, I'd have to say you asked for that one...
xoxo~ gaz trying to teach Cormac NOT to lead with his chin. |
I had meant Brad must like Dan Williams because he IS an ex Bronco. Hence the mad face, because now we have him........
|
My first fave was Dino Hackett. DT defined the team for me throughout the '90's. I was proud every time Bennie Thompson stepped on the field on STs. Also, Todd McNair consistently provided exciting and uplifting play.
Present faves; Hasty - a mentor figure who can still bring it as hard as anyone Gonzalez - so cool to see a football player apply basketball fundamentals to his position and contribute to the evolution of the game [Aside, anyone ever look a Karl Malone and wonder what kind of NFL TE he would have made? Maybe not, but I have] Grbac - for all his brain farts, I really admire his ability to consistently improve in a city and situation that, depending on whom you beleive, was either ambivalent and unsupportive or outright hostile to him Patton - brings it with authority every down Future Faves; TRich and Slymo - I smell a breakout year for each [Who Homer? Me Homer? Doh!] |
Defense - Patton. He actually tackles! What a concept!
Runner-up - Woods. Definitely not everyone's most liked player (sometimes a little poor on the coverage), but I just love the way he hits. Atkins could be working his way up the list. Visions of a 230lb enforcer at SS... Offense - Richardson. ALWAYS gives 100%. 3rd and short plays, 3rd and long plays, just blocking...always gives his all. Runner-up - Lockett. Has the hunger for the ball, catches anything thrown his way (the anti-Alexander http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif). Making his way up the list is Tait. You have to like a great LT. |
Timmy Grunhard. Can't believe he hasn't been mentioned. A workhorse with a great attitude and loyalty.
B^2 |
Gunny's the man!
I'm also with Gaz for Maslowski. He's a throwback. |
Don't think he's still a chief, but I always liked Greg Manuskey. Currently, I'd have to say Donnie Edwards & Tony Gonzalez. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
|
Fav Chief's:
The Interior line: Szott, Grunny and Shields. John Tait: Rapidly becoming a force of nature!! T-Rich: Wish we had another good blocking back, but Gun hints that Tony may get more carries than originally planned--yes! Donnie Edwards & Marcus Patton: For reasons already stated on the board. Edwards enthusiasm after a great play is contagious. Jerome Woods: Another quiet powerhouse. ------------------ Bye weeks?!? Bronco Nagurski never got no BYE WEEKS!!! And now he's dead...uhhh... --Moe the Bartender |
Gonzalez
He is the only reason Grbac can complete a pass. |
I'm partial to defense, especially LBs. I really enjoy watching the play of Patton and Edwards, and will miss DT. I think that Bush will become what Jim Lynch was to the LB corps of he, Lanier and Bell.
I also, for the reason that Gaz sited, like Mas. And I really am looking forward to watching Atkins, who will be like a 4th LB on the field in run D. ------------------ Red Eyes [i]Chinn Up, it ain't nothin' but a thang. |
Willie Lanier
Otis Taylor Hank Stram Lamar Hunt All the old Chiefs http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Super Knat (what wuz that dudes name?) Stephon Paige Todd McNair (Chiefs never used him enough!) #58 Gonzo Szott (still don't think he held against Dolphins!:mad http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif Neil Smith (until he left us :mad http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif Sure would be nice to have a QB or RB to like now days! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
|
