Bob Dole realizes it's not Chiefs-related, but figured there was bound to be some fans or alumni here that would be interested.
Looks like one of your boys may get the start this weekend for Arizona. [i]"With Jake Plummer and Dave Brown nursing injuries, the Arizona Cardinals may give third-stringer Chris Greisen his first NFL start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens."</i> |
I'm a 96' Grad....Used to Watch Greisen and knew a few of the players....They were pretty bad until 96'...
There's a coaching idea...Mel Tjeersma NWMSU...passing offesive minded coach...good at finding speed demons out of Texas CCs... |
Wasn't Jesse Haynes out of NWMSU?
|
And lord knows there are a bunch of them down here... Bob Dole was talking to a couple of our high school running back's dads last season, and the little buggers get together every morning for an hour of self-imposed wind sprints.
Heck, Kloster could probably be a good scout for KC, since a couple of the Houston area high schools cheat like hell and bring in players from rural areas. Spot 'em early. |
Yes,
Jessee Haynes was there the same time as Greisen...I think they both came out around the time I graduated...I remember scouts coming while I was in a "fundamentals of coaching football class"...to talk to a DB that was also there.. |
Haynes played in '93 and '96, sitting out in between for academic reasons.
|
Was Haynes really as good as Marty used to say? He looked like the second coming of Greg Hill to me. Though I will say that neither he nor Greg Hill got much of a chance in KC.
|
nm,
He sure looked pretty good playing DII...But I don't think he was more of a "60watt bulb in a 100watt light fixture...just not quite bright enough... Greisen carried the team in 96, but Haynes did look good..They always said Greien was recruited by the "big" D1 schools, but blew his knee out as a sr in HS... |
