I want to believe in Clark Hunt more than I do believe in Clark Hunt.

I don't have a delusion that he is going man up and fire Scott Pioli. I do think there is a big chance that he does fire Scott Pioli. I hate the waiting "it's a process"

whatever happens, pioli has to be fired or it is a waste of time...at that point, fans have to choose whether they'll support an owner who thinks so little of them...

i feel the same way about drafting a QB, it's non-negotiable for my continued fandom...but I don't believe Clark really cares about that, and a lot of fans would be just fine drafting a LB and acquiring yet another vet cast off...i think there is a very high probability this could go down

This.

So Chunt neuters Pisoli on Monday yet drags him along to interviews in Atlanta. JFC

Where is the too soon to tell option. That is the ONLY fair option at this point.

ChiTown 01-02-2013 09:42 AM

Incomplete

Until I see the final final, I have no comment. Pioli MUST BE GONE, and we have to find a GM and Coach who can get us over this Godforsaken playoff winless hump.

BlackHelicopters 01-02-2013 06:10 PM

No.

What if the new coach keeps Pioli and together they win a playoff game?

Anyone care to change their vote? :)

Clark has made the correct decisions this week. He fired Crennel. Pioli is powerless and hanging in limbo. He's neutered him. Pioli can't leave and he can't stay. Pioli has ruined his franchise, angered his fan base and yet Clark is on the hook for a reported $7.5 million dollars. Clark is not taking Pioli's actions lightly and the entire league is watching.

Clark stated that HE will interview and hire the head football coach, who will report DIRECTLY to him. That's huge news and falls directly in line with his stated goal in 2009 of emulating franchises like the Giants and Steelers. The GM in Pittsburgh doesn't hire head coaches, he provides the personnel, PERIOD. Cowher had at least two different GM's during his tenure (possibly three, my memory is fading). The Rooney family hires the coach.

I expect Clark to interview a shit ton of candidates because this will be his first time hiring a head coach. I imagine that unlike 2009, when I railed on his ass for not performing his proper Due Diligence in regards to Pioli, Haley and staff (Give me a ****ing break - Clancy Pendergast was the "Best" defensive coordinator in the country available? Bull ****ing Shit), he'll be methodical and precise.

Will Clark hire the best guy? Who knows? But I like the fact that he's taken the bull by the horns and wants to get this "right". No more bullshit, no more turning over the franchise to a "Guru", etc.

If Clark makes a mistake with his head coaching and personnel hires, I'll call him on it. But I'm inclined to give the man a chance to correct his earlier mistakes. So far, I like what I'm hearing.

Agreed. Can we wait until we see the end results before we decide what is good or bad?

Except that Dane expected to see Clark interview several candidates.

Looks like he's essentially going to hire his 2nd interview.

If he has the guy he wants in front of him he pulls the trigger or you risk losing him.

I know.

I'm just saying that crossbow was agreeing with him even though is pretty apparent Clark isn't going to do what Dane though he was going to do (fall in love with the first guy he sees, essentially).

KCBOSS1 01-03-2013 04:46 PM

Yes... At least he now appears alive and involved. I was calling for him to sell the team to somebody who cared, or maybe the fans like Green Bay. I'm just glad to see him active...
