Live music performance that brings a little dust into the room.

I've come across two spectacular performances on YouTube recently that were so good they got me a little choked up.

Just wondering if anyone has seen either or come across others that are just *that* good.

Stairway to Heaven - Kennedy Center Honors

Firework - Night of Too Many Stars

I go see Heart pretty often. They usually always do at least a couple of zeppelin numbers and they're the best zeppelin cover band I've ever seen.

This song gets me choked up almost every time. The lyrics and bittersweet tone are too much.

wilson sisters rawk.

the electric band behind them are so fired. that drummer is a butcher & so is the electric guitarist.

god I miss rock. those days are so banned.

Ann can still ****ing blow.

I posted that Heart song in the Epic Win thread.

If that performance doesn't move you, then you are most likely without a soul.

I mean, when Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are brought to tears watching someone else cover their greatest song, you know it has to be pretty powerful stuff.

There's still some really damn good rock. You just have to weed through the crap to find it.

there are some good musical things going on, sure. but it isn't what it was. there was a sense of freedom and pushing barriers that inspired so many artists back then. I dropped in on the "stoner rock" etc thread and it was cool, but it's like the "lite" version of what once was.

there is very little originality/depth in music these days. folks are afraid of rejection in a mega way. most bands back then would be considered insane/creepy now.

I will stop there. I imagine I simply sound old to many of you, but you just had to be there to know what I miss about those days. forgive me, I'm just a sentimental old **** having a moment.

for those of you that like the zep and perhaps have never seen them in their heyday, please view the live doc film of "the song remains the same" for a look at zep at their best. I was at the first night of that 3 day booking, carnegie hall. they were just atomic to me. I'd post a vid but I don't want to hijack this thread further than I already have.

You don't know what the **** your talking about. Jason is not ****ing butchering shit. GTFO

Ace Gunner 01-10-2013 07:03 PM

jason bonham is a fat lil girl that embarrasses his father's manly legacy. he should kill himself.

MeatRock 01-10-2013 07:04 PM

Too many ****ing people say, oh, well it isn't John, well no shit. Jason has never butchered any Zep song's he plays. Without Jason Zep would never had played live again.
