Updated 01/07/14

23. Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Alex Smith struggles with downfield passes, so the Chiefs may want to bring in a reliable intermediate target for him. They need to upgrade the tight end position anyway, and they can do so with one of the top players available.

87. Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers
The Chiefs need another outside receiver to start across from Dwayne Bowe. This team had so many drops against the Broncos.

Last update: Thursday, April 24, 2014. Round 6 added.

23 Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
The Chiefs would like to select a guard, but they can probably do so after trading down. They just signed Jeff Linkenbach, but I'm told that they view the former Colt as a backup. Right guard is a huge hole.

87 Kansas City Chiefs: Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina
The Chiefs need some help in their receiving corps, especially with Dexter McCluster now in Tennessee.

124 Kansas City Chiefs: Dri Archer, RB/WR, Kent State
The Chiefs will be looking to add a running back, as Knile Davis is not expected to be ready for the 2014 season.

163 Kansas City Chiefs: Charles Leno, OT/G, Boise State
After allowing Branden Albert to walk, the Chiefs will want to address the tackle position at some point during the middle rounds if they can't do anything about it in free agency.

193 Kansas City Chiefs: Yawin Smallwood, ILB, Connecticut
The Chiefs could use some competition at inside linebacker. They don't have much outside of Derrick Johnson.

200 Kansas City Chiefs: Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh
The Chiefs like the depth at the receiver position in this class. Maybe that means they'll take two wideouts late during the draft.

I'd love that draft, to be honest.

I would rather have...

23. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State - Although with Cooks there....it was a tough choice.

87. Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss - Nice consolation prize for passing on Cooks. Although this could be swapped with Cooks in the 1st and Jean-Baptiste in the 3rd.

124. Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State

163. Prince Shembo, DE/OLB, Notre Dame

193. Trai Turner, G, LSU

200. Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh

Since when is Knile not expected to be ready for the season? Total bullshit.

What's more is even if it is true, he gave us ****ing Dri Archer to be that RB? Since when should Dri Archer be trusted as a RB outside of gadget plays?

If Knile Davis is indeed out for a significant time into the regular season, the whole point is we don't have anybody behind Charles. Gray proved that he can't be trusted in the Colts game. We'd depend on Archer for a lot of the workload, and that's not something I'm willing to do.

We tried that with McCluster when Haley was coach, and it never ****ing worked.

Apparently I'm the only one somewhat interested/excited to see what Joe McKnight can do in this offense. Plus, he's going to be our kick returner with Davis rehabbing. I just can't see us taking a running back.

Dante84 04-24-2014 11:57 AM

Forgot about him

Going by Walter's draft, I'd have done the following:

#23. Brandin Cooks, WR; Oregon State
#87. Gabe Jackson, OG; Miss State
#124. James Gayle, OLB/DE; Virginia Tech
#163. Nevin Lawson, CB; Utah State
#193. Devin Street, WR; Pitt
#200. Marqueston Huff, S; Wyoming

please no more OL from small schools.

need to have big strong goliaths that are used to going up against big strong top talent from major conferences.

I've been on the Dri Archer bandwagon for a long time.....dude's electric, much faster and quicker than DMC

Last update: Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Major changes in all 6 rounds.

Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
The Chiefs would like to select a guard, but they can probably do so after trading down. They just signed Jeff Linkenbach, but I'm told that they view the former Colt as a backup. Right guard is a huge hole.

Kansas City Chiefs: Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina
The Chiefs need some help in their receiving corps, especially with Dexter McCluster now in Tennessee.

Kansas City Chiefs: Ka'Deem Carey, RB, Arizona
The Chiefs will be looking to add a running back, as Knile Davis is not expected to be ready for the 2014 season.

Kansas City Chiefs: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, OT/G, Canada
After allowing Branden Albert to walk, the Chiefs will want to address the tackle position at some point during the middle rounds if they can't do anything about it in free agency.

Pick change; previously Charles Leno, OT/G

Kansas City Chiefs: Avery Williamson, ILB, Kentucky
The Chiefs could use some competition at inside linebacker. They don't have much outside of Derrick Johnson.

Pick change; previously Yawin Smallwood, ILB

Kansas City Chiefs: Lonnie Ballentine, S, Memphis
The Chiefs could use depth at safety, and they've shown interest in Lonnie Ballentine.

The Franchise 04-30-2014 10:49 AM

**** taking a RB in the 4th round or higher.
