Hootie made a thread about this yesterday, I'm in if theres enough people.

We get enough interest, I'll probably kick in $25-$50 to play.
|
We could collect money via Paypal and keep it in whoever's account. We could have the longest-standing member hold it, or whatever everyone wanted. If we could get enough people interested in the next few days, it would be nice to nail down a draft time.
I'll update the thread starter with interested players. |

That paypal deal is sort of sketchy though. Theres gotta be a good escrow site. |
Quote:
|
I would join, for a $25 fee.
|
I'd consider it.
Would there be teams or just individual? |

Hootie will probably do it.

The problem I forsee with paypal is someone just spending the money and saying they'll replace it. Then when it comes time, they don't have any money to replace it with. |

I would be interested. Any idea on scoring format or anything like that at this point?
|
I'm interested as well, I think I have enough time on my hands to deliver an asswhoopin to the CP faithful =)
|
if we go 25, i could prolly do it
|
In if you're still looking for players depending on the site. I prefer ESPN (it's free, has live scoring and is easy to navigate). I wouldn't mind setting it up, but someone else can hold the $$......would rather do $50-$100, but whatever everyone else is into.
|
OK, as far as scoring, I am open to whatever everyone would prefer. It sounds like the majority would prefer a $25 buy-in. Is that correct?
If it is, let's just call it a $25 buy in and the first 12 to commit in this thread are in. I am out of town for the weekend but can get it all set up on Monday. Scoring wise, we can set it up after we get 12 to commit. |
Count me in please.
|
Count me in as well. I'm good for 50-100, but 25 works too.

Count me in. I was looking for another league. Anything up to a hundo works for me.

If I count correctly that's 12
|
If it's not too late, I'd like to be considered
|
I guess I didn't rate, did I miss the minimum post count? =)

I really hope Gonzo is in.
Even if I don't win the pot, it'd be worth $25 to beat the shit out of him at least once. |
While I'm waiting for everyone to respond to the PMs, does anyone have a site they prefer? I probably prefer ESPN personally, because they offer free stat tracking unlike Yahoo.
Also, if there are dates that won't work for the draft, let me know. We will probably just do it one evening during the week. And, if there are certain scoring settings that you want, we can explore that too. I usually prefer PPR leagues myself. I wouldn't mind doing a league that also drafts a couple IDPs (defensive players) as well. |
Yahoo is doing free scoring this year, but I MUCH prefer ESPN.
I cannot do the 29th, I already have 2 drafts that day. scoring = We're all playing by the same rules, so whatever....I haven't done many IDP or PPR, but am 100% open to both if that's what folks want to do |
I'd be interested, would love to do a dynasty
|
By the way, I don't know what IDP or PPR means.

Ooh, i'm down for PPR.
Not sure about IDP, thats like a 4 hour draft. |

I've only done a few auctions, but I DO like the idea that if you want him bad enough, any player is available to you. |
PM me, I want in. Especially if we do Yahoo.

Just waiting to hear back from Gonzo, then we'll get our draft date sent out and I will send invites to everyone.
Any objections to using ESPN to host the league? |

I prefer ESPN over Yahoo 100,000%
|
****ing Gonzo.
I've never used ESPN, I'm sure its just as easy. |

Sick. Do they have it where you can just pay the money to them then they take like 5% off the top and give the money to the winner? If they had something like that, It'd probably be best, if not we could do the paypal thing.
|
It's also easier (possible) for the LM do things with the home page....here's one of mine. It's kinda boring right now, as it's prior to the draft, but....

Are we doing a keeper league?

Damnit, my dreams are ruined.
|
I have never used ESPN so I am all for using a new site.
I am sure we will have some discussion on this in the future but I wanted to get the ball rolling. As for the draft... will it be serpentine and how will draft slots be picked. Any ideas on scoring system? PPR or not things like that. maybe we can get some input from the other guys. I have never played a PPR league so I would be up for that but I really don't care either way. |
Quote:
Personally, I have never much cared for keeper leagues as I like the newness of each year. That being said if everyone else wants that I would be game. |

I would like to do PPR personally, with standard scoring otherwise. I also think it would be fun to add in an IDP (Independent Defensive Player) or two as well. They score on sacks, tackles, INTs, etc. What does everyone think? |
Quote:
Am OK with PPR and IDP (how about 3 of them....maybe 1 DL, 1LB, 1DB) The only thing I dislike about ESPN randomizing the draft order is that it doesn't set until an hour prior to the draft leaving no time to mock from whatever position you get....no real big deal though. |
Yeah thats true, truebigdog.
I think we should find some randomizing program online and put the names in the hopper there so we at least know the draft order ahead of time.... And I would like to do PPR, but if we do IDP I need to know how the scoring works for them ahead of time because I've never done IDP before so I need to figure out about where I am going to draft my defensive players. |
Set it up anyway you'd like, it will do you no good in the end. :D

I am up for PPR...never done one before.
I played in an IDP league a couple years back and didn't like it. Just too much to keep track of. Posted via Mobile Device |
How do you edit the name of your team?

I tentatively set the live draft time for Monday August 31 at 8:00 Central Time. Let me know if this won't work for anyone and I will see about finding a different date/time.
|
I'll actually register and sign up this weekend.
|
8 Central is what, 6 Pacific?
I dont think I can work that. Can we not do it on a weekend? |

I would be open to the 23rd if you guys wanted, or we could do it later during the week if that worked too. First game isn't until Thursday, September 10, so we could even do it that Sunday evening before that. Sunday, September 6. Does that work for everyone? I'm really open to dates that work for everyone. |
Quote:

I'm great with the 6th as well. I will change it on the site and plan on that.
8:00 Central Time OK with everyone since it will be on a Sunday? |

I'm with Omaha Chief.....would like it to be a bit earlier if possible. 8pm seems awfully late to start.
8pm CST + 3 hour (at least probably) draft = 11pm + getting up at 4am = not enough sleep for an old man. If it's set I'll deal with it, but will probably go on auto for the last 1/2 of the draft. |
I'll deal with it if I have to, but I try not to do drafts Labor Day Weekend. It's my experience that too many people go out of town. There's a good chance I'm going to be at the lake with suspect internet service.
|
I thought the same, but I know I'm probably not going anywhere that w/e.
|
I cant do it at noon or whatever like someone was proposing, but 8 is fine. Night is better for me
|
The thing is, it doesn't sound like there will be an option that works for everyone. We just need to come to a basic consensus on this and nail it down. I would personally prefer to do it on a weeknight in the evening, but it doesn't sound like Buck or Flopnuts could make that.
