Seems like Ellis has been bitching about his contract for the past few seasons.

Remind yourself that the Chiefs just set an NFL record for pass-rush futility then ask yourself why we wouldn't go after Ellis if the demands are reasonable?

First I'd ask myself why the Cowboys are so dead set on replacing him?

Looking at his numbers, it appears he's had some injuries in two of the last three seasons, and his 2007 season was something of a abberation.

Age and injuries could be an issue, so signing him may or may not be as black and white as it appears to you initially.

To make room for a top 2007 draft pick who apparently is ready.

All you have to do is watch the 2008 version of Hard Knocks to find the answer. The Cowboys love Spencer...he's the new thing. Jones says he's the next Ware. Ellis is on the tail end of his career, and he makes a lot of money. This isn't rocket science.

I still think Ellis could be effective, but only for a team that needs a plug in at his position, and are mostly set everywhere else. KC, obviously, doesn't fit that bill. Pass.

ROFL

Jesus GM finds your lack of faith disturbing...:shake:

I wouldn't mind Ellis for a short term deal. We have the cap money and it's not like we have young talent he would be blocking.

2-year deal would work

BigChiefFan 05-23-2009 02:16 PM

I'd consider him as a free agent, if the Cowboys choose to release him, but I wouldn't give up a draft pick. I think our LBers will surprise the heck out of some this year.

As long as they move swiftly through the buffet line and don't bitch about the price at the cash register, we're all good.

Agreed, i don't think anyone is gonna trade anything of real worth for him. Dallas sent him home, that reduces their leverage big time.

Well, we have the cap space, so if he is cut, why not?

34 is the new 32 in the NFL any how, so he's got another 2 or 3 years.....

There are more factors than how much cap space we have.

Do they take the Geritol orally, or through hypo-spray like Star Trek?
