Gronk broke forearm on New England's last PAT to put them up 59-24
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
As @tomecurran reported, Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski broke his forearm. Am told he did it on the Patriots' last extra point. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/...d-patriots-win |
LOL. That is what they get for running up the score.
|
|
**** Gronk and MOTHER**** the Pats...serves em right...
|
Patriot Way fails again.
|
I have this guy on my fantasy team and this really ****ing blows. He was my last hope of making the playoffs.
|
Classic (or should that be classless?) Belicheat.
|
So they will likely win the SB this year.
|
Too bad it wasn't Brady's knee again.
|
**** Everything Patriot. Seriously.

Made good on his short term cheap shot, but its going to cost him everything in the playoffs.
He's dialing Branch as we speak... "yeah hey, its Bill, hey lets forget all that old stuff, wanna play for a winner again" |

Well, they signed two of our TEs. The Giants knew that they would not have Jake Ballard this season who tore his ACL in the Super Bowl - So they tried to slip Ballard through waivers and onto physically unable to perform list and the Patriots snatched him up. |

NE 59 IND 24 Belichick is a a complete moron! |
Karma is a bitch!!
|
****. Yes he's on my fantasy team
|
Belichik is only winnin because they're struck gold in Brady now he runs up the score thinking he's cute. **** the patriots and their BS way

Couldn't have happened to a better organization.

No Super Bowl for the Pats this year.
Probably won't even win a playoff game. Suck it, Patriots fans. |
Lol
I remember commenting to my wife what a bunch of dicks they were throwing the football into the end zone with a 28 point lead with 4 minutes left. Justice! |

I didn't know you were a Patriotard. I thought all you dumb****ers had gone since Pioli has gone into the realm of un-defendable. You are a dying breed. It is rare to see one in the wild. |

How is that 8-8 prediction working out for you? Bad luck. Not much you can do about that. Can't stop playing. |
Quote:
4-6 week recovery time they say, which means he can play in the playoffs. Of course it won't help his football conditioning if he's out until the game before. There's also playoff positioning, though getting a bye seems like a longshot at this point. |

Stay classy Bugman. |
Quote:
Wait, I thought they were going 8-8? Besides, unless the defense gets a fair bit better, the Pats aren't winning the SB with or without Gronk. |
Quote:
FTR, I wanted Brady out of the game with 52 points on the board and 5 or whatever minutes left. I do think BB leaves his guys in a little too long, no question. As for throwing it in the end zone, yeah, I guess they could run up the middle 3 times or something. I'm not sure I've seen many teams actually do that in real games, but maybe. |
Quote:
I'm here. Consistently... |
Quote:
Nice try, but the Patriots have the best record in the NFL from 2007-2012 (i.e. AFTER spygate). Just so you know. |
I was actually at the game.
Yeah for me! |
I'm fairly convinced he will play next week.
Dude is like a robot. |

Pioli at this point wishes he could break his TE's forearm on a PAT in the 4th quarter with this team TRAILING 59-24
|
That's unfortunate.
Now that my FF team is out of any chance....Brady might as well be next when they do this again. |
Why Amno...are we cross?
|
this coming from a place that boo's the kicker that won them 3 superbowls

Why would I be? |

Memories are long in New England, and it's not that he left, but that he went to the hated Colts. But for me, I disagree with it. Time to move on already. It's been SEVEN years for God's sake... Besides, it's not like we've had trouble filling his position. Ghost is very good. |

And really the other JD isn't either. But he's quit talking about football all together. |

NE fans that comment on the subject say "he" (AV) should have taken less money and stayed." ... WHAT? A kicker makes nothing compared to everyone else and if he was the best kicker in the game (which he prob. was at that time) they should have paid him. But other players re-structured to stay and to your point, fans remember that. He was in a no win situation IMO. Always defending the Company up here in NE... not lumping you ..in just voicing my dealing with the fans up here for 30+ years. |

I don't mind those who say karma and such. It's just an opinion. But I don't like classless "wish it was Brady's knee" and such posts. I don't care what team it is, that kind of stuff is just classless and disturbing. Who roots for injuries? (actually, dont' answer that, as clearly some do). And I have no choice but to correct those who think the Patriots' success only happened because of Spygate. The evidence is pretty overwhelming that that isn't true. As I've said, they have the best record in the NFL post spygate, including two SB appearances where they were leading within the final minute of the game. But none of that stuff really makes me mad. I'm just going to go around cleaning up the record whenever it's appropriate. |

I think people defend Belichick quite a bit up here, and rightly so. He has a clear track record of success. I personally defend him quite a bit, though there's things to criticize him for (secondary sucking for multiple years now being foremost on the list). But just as Belichick probably made the right decision in NOT paying Vinatieri, Vinatieri had to make the right decision for himself in leaving. Hell, he has more rings than Brady since he won one with Indy. I don't blame AV for it, just as I don't blame other players for leaving for more money. And I do think if he'd gone to any other team (other than the Jets), he probably wouldn't be booed, but going and helping Peyton Manning was some kind of unforgivable sin to many around here, I guess. Silly, but there it is. |
|
There is no such thing as running up the score in professional sports.

If Brady/Belichick do it, then it's a cardinal sin, only slightly less worthy of forgiveness than Sandusky's crimes. I can't understand it, but there it is. That said, I didn't like seeing Brady on the field with 5 minutes left up by 21 or whatever it was. Not because I care about scoring again, but because it makes no sense to risk injury at that point. |
the internet bat symbol goes out whenever the patriots way is besmirched...
as a feat of constant surveillance, it is impressive...if kind of weird |

Dude, it's me, and I check the front page of the Lounge for Patriots stuff. Perhaps that shocks you, but this isn't exactly the NSA at work... |
Im not sure whether I'm more dumbfounded by the Pats not taking the starters out sooner or by the fact that Gronk is on the PAT team. What purpose does that serve? You're never going to fake a PAT are you?
|

You have 45 guys on the game day roster. This isn't college where you can run a whole separate team of guys out there to do stuff. You've got the snapper, holder and kicker, so you need 8 more guys, all of whom are blocking, right? Most of those guys are big beefeaters, and you've only got 7 OLinemen on the game day roster. Gronk is a very, VERY good blocker. I'm hardly surprised he's on the PAT block team, probably along with 6 or so OLinemen and a couple other TE types. FWIW (nothing), Gronk only played one snap on that final series leading up to the TD, and then he was on for the PAT as he's ALWAYS on for the PAT (there's no backup PAT blocking team). |
He can still bang porn ho's with a broken arm, right?
|
Their ridiculous luck of losing an AWESOME player to injury for a few weeks makes me want to throw things at my Pats fan roommate.
If Gronk was a Chief his arm would've been amputated |
Quote:
If it makes you feel better, we basically lost Gronk for the SB last year and I'm utterly convinced we would've won if he'd been 100%. He's that impossible to deal with, and the game was that close. Oh, and Mankins played on a torn ACL all of last year. Everyone was wondering why he was only good, instead of awesome, and then we found out after the season was over. And of course we lost Welker in the last game of the season in 2009, so we didn't have him in the playoffs. This was pre-Gronk/Hernandez, so our entire offense was basically nothing but Moss/Welker. Not that we were going to do squat that year, but still. None of this is to complain about our injuries. All teams have them, but don't for a second think the Patriots HAVEN'T had their fair share of injuries the last few years. |

sounds like karma at work, IMO. |

Also, be prepared to never win another Super Bowl for as long as I live here and/or have a positive opinion of your team. Sorry. Quote:

And yet, when Richard Seymour was the fullback in goal line situations and got hurt when someone rolled up on his leg, BB got reamed for that too. You've only got 45 guys. You put the best players out there to perform the tasks necessary to win the game. You can't sit there and think "well, this guy plays 60 snaps a game on offense, running down the field and blocking, and he's the best guy to put on PAT, which is like 5 snaps per game -- but WHAT IF HE GETS HURT ON PAT DUTY?!?!" Any player can get hurt on any play. That's the reality of the NFL. Sometimes shit happens. |

I wish we could get our PAT team out there, once a game... |
