The aft part of the Russian sub looks a lot like an Ohio-Class sub.

They still have them. Most are mothballed, though.

I think they had 6 Typhoon class subs during the end of the Cold War.

On a side note Russia has tripled their space budget also, where are they getting their money? Cool sub nonetheless. I'm waiting for us to get our metamaterial technology high enough to make wake-less subs as well as sound proof

“Continue to build”? My understanding of the Russian military is that it is a sad state of disrepair. The Russian bear has mange.
China is a different animal though.
