Stanford Routt Satisfaction Poll?
He was going to be the Chiefs' biggest liability in the secondary.
Through 3 games, he's probably been their best DB. |
he done did good
|
he got his ass torched for almost 3 quarters, like all our cbs
then magically we blanketed everyone |
He had a good game today and made the big play that we needed
|
I adopted him this year since I got cheated out of DJ (whom I adopted last year prior to his first Pro Bowl season).
|
Notice how the CB's don't matter if you pressure the QB, like they did in the 2nd half. WHAT AN AMAZING IDEA!
|
He is a poor replacement for Carr and a poor value for the money he makes. He isn't good. The only reason he looks decent on occasion is because flowers has been so poor thus far
|
Through the last two games....i've been wrong about Stanford Routt

dude hasnt cost us a game.
Int kept us in the game. |
I loved Brandon Carr as a player and still wish he was here.
But Routt has filled in nicely. That interception was huge and was a nice play. |

Routt's been okay. Get flowers back to 100% and get lewis back on the field and we're in good shape.

I never thought he was a problem. Pretty much every time I've seen him "beat" this season it was due to a soft, zone scheme with no pressure on the QB OR just a great pass/route.
Dude's is not a problem. |

I'm not complaining.

Every corner gets torched. Overall: B+

Routt was in great position ... better than we've had all year and he made the catch. If anything we lulled Brees into expecting NO coverage and then nailed him for it. |
Routt is ok
I just wish our defense didn't look so lost sometimes. |
Jimmy graham had 4 catches for 14 yards today. Hope the defense discovered themselves in the second half. Berry even looks better
|
He sucks, too many penalties.

He reminds me of Eric Warfield.

I stated we wouldn't lose much if anything by replacing Carr with Routt and man was I worried that was a horrible decision. I think Routt is good and as long as he cuts down on the PI's we're good.
|
What are the PFF position rankings for Routt and Carr?
|
The issue in the secondary so far isn't Routt....it's the mis-use of Berry and the raping Javier Arenas is getting on a weekly basis.
Either way it was ****ing stupid to let Carr go to Dallas and sign Routt as his replacement. It never should have come to that IMO. But Carr always was a Cowboys fan so who knows what we could have done (if anything) to make him stay. I know if I was a hot commodity in the FA market, I'd take less money so I could play for the Chiefs in my own hometown if it came to that decision. But that's just me.... |
Undecided

What about Orton? That's the one that stings for me.

Before Sunday, I would have said he didn't fit Romeo's scheme because he can't cover for 11 to 15 seconds.

Routt has been great. That said, I would take Carr over Routt every day of the week.

Routt is terrible. That game and that play by DishRoutt yesterday does nothing to dispel that notion.

I won't make a judgement until after the season is over.
This is a new team and new scheme for Routt, and I expect a few growing pains. Considering, he's playing well imo. |
Routt is in a tough position for me.
He could play fairly well and I'll always be a little disappointed with him because he flat out isn't as good as Carr was. I know that's not his fault but it is what it is. |

How many tds has he allowed/penalties has he gotten?

Routt's a solid corner.
He's about 90% of Carr signed to a reasonable deal. The problem is that Carr's also on a very nice deal for the first 3 seasons, it would've just required a heavier cash outlay from Clark to make it happen. Routt's going to take some undeserved heat this year because everyone would prefer Carr (and rightly so). But in the end the Routt signing, in a vacuum, is a decent one. |

Routt couldn't have been in a better spot than he was there. He's not a perfect player by any means. He isn't Revis, he isn't Carr, he isn't Flowers. He's an above average cover corner that has the size to deal with some of the bigger WRs in the league and that athletic skills to make plays on balls like that. He's a nice #2 cornerback. The Warfield comparisons are actually pretty fair. Chiefs fans blast him, but the worst thing Warfield ever did was replace Dale Carter (who Chiefs fans also blasted for no good reason despite him being one of the top 10 CBs in football). Warfield was a long, athletic corner who would take risks that got him burned on occasion. For the most part he did his job and was a solid CB. The problem was that he was asked to be a #1 here and was never up for the task. Routt, on the other hand, is only asked to be what he's capable of being - a sound second CB. He'll be just fine there. |

Too many penalties

The ball was underthrown by a couple of steps which made it easier but Routt was in perfect position regardless. |

Also, its intersting to note that they worked Carr in at FS at points in yesterdays game when TB went 3+ WRs. |
I would rather have Carr and Routt, then Flowers and Routt..
But that is just me. |

If so having the whole secondary healthy and hungry will be a huge help. If the Bucks target Routt instead of our banged up safeties that's a huge win for us... |
What's with the Routt butthurt? He hasn't been a liability at all.
