Texas A&M football player Thomas Johnson is missing, according to University Police. A freshman wide receiver who has participated in 10 games this season, per ESPN Dallas, Johnson was last seen on the Texas A&M campus on Monday.

“At this point we don’t have any reason to believe of anything criminal in nature. Our foremost priority at this time is to see if we can locate him,” Texas A&M spokesman Jason Cook told KBTX in College Station on Wednesday.

Speaking from Johnson's hometown of Dallas, his mother, Linda Hanks, is calling for anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

"I'm asking anyone... anyone... to just provide any piece of information," Hanks said on Wednesday, via WFAA-TV in Dallas. Police believe Johnson may have been headed to Dallas when he departed the A&M campus on Monday.

Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin issued a statement on the football team's website, expressing his own concern for Johnson and also calling for anyone with information to come forward.

"All of us are obviously very concerned about the safety and well-being of Thomas Johnson, who has been missing since Monday evening. Authorities are working closely with his family, friends and law enforcement agencies to help locate him. Thomas is a tremendous student-athlete, greatly admired by his fellow teammates and all of us on the coaching staff. If anyone has any current information about him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact his family or law enforcement authorities immediately. We pray for his quick and safe return."

Texas A&M Police are asking anyone with information to call (979) 845-2345.

As reports proliferated about the search for Johnson, there were also many calls for information and prayers offered on social media, including from notable members of the larger football community such as FOX broadcaster Erin Andrews and Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas. The hashtag #FindThomas is being used for Twitter updates regarding the search.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M freshman receiver Thomas Johnson, missing since Monday, was found safe on Thursday in Dallas, the University Police Department and the player's mother confirmed.

A police department spokesperson told ESPN.com Thursday morning that further information was forthcoming, but confirmed that Johnson was safe.

His mother, Linda Hanks, said A&M University police called her early Thursday to say the 18-year-old has been found unharmed.

Police said Wednesday that Johnson was last seen leaving his College Station residence around 5 p.m. Monday.

Hanks told WFAA-TV she had traveled from Dallas to College Station as authorities searched for her son. Meanwhile, Johnson turned up 180 miles to the north, in Dallas.

Hanks says Johnson has not contacted her since his disappearance and that she had no other information.

Campus police scheduled a news conference for Thursday morning.

Johnson, a true freshman receiver out of Dallas Skyline High School, has appeared in 10 games this season, and has 30 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown.

The station reported Hanks visited Johnson last week, then received a text Monday that he had missed class and practice.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Johnson has caught 30 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown in 10 games (including two starts) this season.

He has to stay within ten yards of the line of scrimmage. Thats as far as The Matt Cassel can throw.
