Anthem
Sooo....finally, this is the mystery IP the OT Mass Effect studio has been working on since 2012...
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EL5GSfs9fi4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'll need to see a lot more, but...looks pretty cool. So far. Sort of a mech Destiny. |
I need a secondary grind game so I'm hopeful that this one is good. The Division started off pretty good but couldn't hold my interest. Destiny is my primary so this coming out next fall might be perfect.

The graphics are really impressive. Especially the facial movements. The world looks fun. The flying/wingsuit stuff looks like a blast. Squad play looks fun. I like it...
|
When is this supposed to release? Looks interesting and I'm sure I'll give it a go. Odd dialogue though — voice actors talking about someone needing XP, and when picking up the loot.
|
That's not dialogue, that's poorly-written and -acted "voice chat". Supposed to simulate your fire team (or whatever they end up calling their groups...).

Seemed odd to me that that they'd shoot for a fall release date for Anthem, becauseDestiny usually has a major fall release of some kind. Although I know the current D2 pass only includes Winter 2017 and Spring 2018 dlc. |
Looks interesting. Hopefully it has a single player mode.
Gaming is a me thing, not an us thing. |
I'm assuming it's all multiplayer.
However, I've been playing multiplayer games solo for decades.... |
Bit more detail on the solo versus mp stuff:

That shit looked hot.

Online I'm getting killed/teabagged every 10 seconds and I just don't see the point. I guess it's the competitiveness of it. And everyone wants to **** my mom (gross), who apparently lives upstairs. |
All I'm saying is that it's entirely possible to do that in mmo's. I'm doing it in Neverwinter on my PS4 right now. Going back to EverQuest in the late 90's I've played primarily alone. And nowadays they've advanced technology enough that you can queue for most anything you want to do that requires a group. I haven't even plugged my headset into my console in the last year.
Point being that very few of these games force you to do anything. They try to cater to everyone, whether it's dudes like jive with a steady group or loners like me. Although it's kind of a moot point now with bioware saying they fully support single player. Found out today that Drew Karpashyn is a writer on the game as well, so I'm not concerned about the story. |
