The Wire Complete Series - $82

Buy it now, thank me later.

I've only seen the first 1.75 seasons (out of 5), but I can already tell its one of the most creative real-life drama's that has ever been made.

I'm jumping on that. I watched the series through library borrowing.

I own the complete series, I am watching The Wire currently as well as Battlestar Galactica.

2 awesome shows.

WTF happened to the thread starter? Did Kyle kill the board?

This thread is less helpful without the link.

I'm on the last season. Omar is the best character. I like all the creative ways he robs the drug dealers.

Everyone loves Omar. Mostly because of his complexity, but I feel he serves a critical role in the show of providing emotional release. Everything on The Wire is so damn realistic, bleak, and depressing. Everything, that is, except for Omar Little. He continues to rob big-time dealers, emerging relatively unscathed for the longest time. Prolific stick-up men such as him in the real world don't have his shelf life. So, Omar works as the superhero of the show. Because of this mythic nature, he's really likable. I bet that the audience has a smile on their face every time Omar pops up in a scene. His very presence provides some room for the audience to breath in the midst of the overbearing realism everywhere else.

Deadwood complete today

I can't stand the camera work in that show. I'd rather watch home video shot from camera phone strapped to a wild boar's ballsack.

I bought The Wire Complete Series / Deadwood Complete Series / Extras Complete Series from Best Buy a few weeks ago on their 50% off HBO Sale.

Everything on Amazon this week has been about $5 to $10 cheaper.

I'm almost through season 2 of The Wire, then I'll start Deadwood.

I actually prefer Deadwood to The Wire, perhaps the best television ever. It's such a different and all encompassing world.
Be prepared for a BIT of cursing, wonderful, poetic, eloquent cursing.

Booooo. The Wire is supreme as far as artistic television goes.

I love Gervais. Would I love Extras?
