Frank Darabont. Six episode season. Set in 1947 Los Angeles with Ed Burns as Bugsy Seigel (whose home is in my neighborhood).

Pilot will be awesome, the other 5 episodes will be up and down, but get high ratings. Show runner will leave at beginning of 2nd season due to those pesky creative differences.
