yup, two to tango

I was relating this to my 20 year old daughter (who had little sympathy with Amanda and her family) and when I finished the story she said "what did you and dad teach me that even at 12 I wouldn't have made the decision to flash somebody?"

Some of her comments:

"What's a 12 year old doing on the internet unsupervised, let alone in chat rooms.

What a great way to deal with your childs' problems, let them change schools instead of finding out what the problem really is.

Oh so the parents weren't living together, great now she's a child of divorce too. (sarcastic tone)"

We all agree that the person that did this is a class A jerk/audiophile/insert stronger language here. It's too bad (but also not unusual) that the people close to Amanda didn't see/realize the extent of her pain. It's also blatantly apparent that bullying is wrong.
