I sneak all kinds of food, too. And I'd never cheat on anybody. But...you might be surprised by the amount of infidelity that does goes on. Or you might not. Either way, there's a lot of it. And I'm not defending it, just saying there are likely a lot of people in glass houses throwing stones about this one.

She looks like Elway in drag, damn Dan!

Completely ****ed me up, as he was most certainly a MAJOR hero of mine growing up.

Yep, I've heard stories like that, which is why I said I felt lucky he wasn't a DB to me at spring training.

I remember when I covered the 1991 World Series in Atlanta, before one of the games I was on the field and I saw Peter Gammons standing by himself, basically doing nothing, about 20 feet away from me. He was one of the biggest reasons I got into sportswriting, as I grew up reading his AL notes column in the Sporting News.

I wanted so bad to go up to him and interview him for my notebook feature as just a pretext to meet him and talk to him, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I was deathly afraid he'd tell me to get lost, or big-time me or something.

Yeah, I heard a story about him when I was still pretty young which sort of soured me to him. But oddly, I'm of the sort that doesn't and never really had any heroes. Which is mostly just sad.

Didn't know Marino had a penis. Good to know.

Demonpenz 01-31-2013 06:32 PM

he probably faked like he was going to pull out then threw it back in like a kneeldown against the jets.

Why, it's almost as if I did that on purpose.

I wonder what Dan was doing when he found out we drafted Blackledge. It was probably the same thing we were doing a year later.

This has got to be one of the best examples of money not buying happiness I've heard in awhile.

Marino's gut has to be churning.

Kid looks exactly like him.

Saul Good 01-31-2013 08:22 PM

Should have worn a glove.

Rain Man 01-31-2013 08:24 PM

It was character issues like this that made us pass him up in the draft.
