But if he can't sing, he can't sing.

Emmy Rossum was terrible, too. Her singing was fine, but she couldn't act her way out of a wet sack in that movie. Which leads me to believe the problem with the movie version of Phantom was Joel Schumacher's direction, because Rossum is great in Shameless.

ROFL

I just posted above you that maybe not as bad as Crowe, but he was still terrible.

YES!

I posted somewhere earlier a video of Quast as Javert. He's my favorite of any of the recordings.

Oh, I'm a fan, believe me! I love her in Shameless - she's got a ton of range. And she got nice boobies.

But she was awful in Phantom. Again, I lay the blame on Schumacher. It wouldn't be the first thing he's ruined.

Have you ever heard of Michael McCarthy? He played the role of Javert onstage, mainly in London. Had a bit part in the 10th anniversary concert as the Foreman. He's married to one of my cousins. There's a recording of him doing Stars on You Tube, but it's a fairly crappy recording.

I apologize, I skipped the rest of your post after you said she couldn't act. I've never seen the film in question.

Nice. Terrible recording, but nice job.

Yeah, he's top notch. Ironically, I've never heard him sing live on stage - just in my grandpa's church. :D

Oh come on....St. Elmo's Fire was brilliant.

Brilliantly awful

St. Elmo's Fire, sadly, is probably one of the top 3 best films Schumacher has made.

Oy... looking at his filmography on IMDB: Phonebooth was decent; Falling Down was great. Yeah, SEF probably is in his top 3.

Just the ones I've seen...

Lost Boys
Falling Down
A Time to Kill

He's kinda fallen off a cliff the past 8 or 9 years...
